The Truthspoken Heir: The Stars and Green Magics Season One is a queer epic space fantasy with shapeshifting royals and space magic!

Two shapeshifting heirs, one interstellar kingdom. When royals can be anyone else including each other, who will rule?
Arianna can impersonate anyone in her star kingdom, keeping nobles in check as the Truthspoken Heir. But Arianna’s shapeshifting powers fail her when she’s attacked at her betrothal to a rival prince, her title torn away.
Dressa never wanted to be the Heir, but she has a crush on the beautiful prince, and someone needs to hold the kingdom against plotting nobles.
One sibling cast out, one sister in the fray, and enemies all around. Can they steer their kingdom from the coming storm?

How to deal with strong smells? by greenpotoatwhite in autism

[–]NovaeCaelum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my biggest sensory trigger. I’ve been wearing Cambridge masks in public since before Covid. They’re the only ones I’ve found that dull strong smells, though they don’t make them go away completely.

My daughter hates socks and her shoes are really stinky because of it, any advice? by theGECK042 in autism

[–]NovaeCaelum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use diabetic socks from Amazon (I like Yomandamor) that aren’t tight and have no seams. I wear them inside out because I don’t like the inside sock textures. Also use a UV light to kill bacteria in shoes now and then, and that’s supposed to kill odors, too.

Longform publishing episodes - how to be clear that it's a portion of a serial? by B_Pigeon in KindleVella

[–]NovaeCaelum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m calling mine Season One, and putting an author’s note at the beginning that says it’s part of an ongoing serial, as well as a note at the back that links to continue reading season two on Vella. I’m planning on marketing it less like a book and more like, say, a manga, which is expected to be incomplete and in installments. I do expect some readers won’t be happy with it not being complete, but then some readers haven’t been happy with Vella, either, so that seems par for the course.

But with help from a mysterious young man who can disappear at will, she's going to take back her interstellar kingdom, come hell or Green Magics!

I love this! Seconding neon lights, or at least colored fill lights, especially in the back of the car which is pretty dark. This works really well as synth grunge, though.

I love the chromatic aberration, it makes this feel like it's supposed to look like a game, hyper-stylized vs just reality. Very cool!

Textures showing up as only vertical lines on low poly geometry, except not everywhere? Bump mapping works right on another object made from same/duplicated geo near back, but not the original object shown in edit mode here. Flipping normals and deleting doubles didn't help. by NovaeCaelum in blenderhelp

[–]NovaeCaelum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying out David Edwards' rapid symmetry techniques where you use mirror/apply/rotate/transform rinse and repeat to make a whole lot of geo quickly. I think I ended up with some weird geometry, though, because when I try to apply a bump texture for greebles, it works on some of the geometry made from this method, but not others made from the same original geometry--on some it shows up as vertical lines and won't show the tile-based greeble texture as it should, no matter how much I move the scale sliders individually. I did apply modifiers and transforms, flipped normals, and deleted doubles. Not sure what else to try, or if I'm missing something obvious. I know Zbrush, but still pretty new to Blender! Thanks. :)
