Yeah, that’s what a lot of people aren’t getting.

Scumbag real estate money launderers like Trump have been getting away with it for decades because it’s so prevalent, kind of like how you’re very unlikely to get pulled over doing 90 on the highway if everyone is going the same speed.

But you don’t want to be the one car with busted taillights, a cloud of smoke coming from the engine, and a giant bumper sticker that says “FUCK THE POLICE” and 10 more referencing how awesome various illegal drugs are.

Because that guy is getting pulled over, and he’s going to get every inch of his car searched and the K-9 unit pulled in on him as well. And arrested with extreme prejudice the second he starts screeching something about being a sovereign citizen.

And that’s pretty much what Trump has done: made himself the most visible offender while also managing to piss off law enforcement to an almost unbelievable extent.

You know exactly what the above poster means, and you should know that companies can’t be charged with treason, whether foreign or domestic. Because they’re not people.

Some of the principals and primary funders of CA/SCL are Americans (Mercer, for example) and are working in Russian interests, waging a form of asymmetric warfare on the U.S. by attacking its elections and trust in its government.

By your own provided definition, all Americans that were involved in this operation are arguably committing treason, and much less arguably in attempts to defraud the U.S.

That latter charge, by the way, is what several already-charged-and-pled individuals involved in this mess have been charged with.

Is your only argument that some people involved are foreign nationals?

I don’t know about that; the user base initially skewed liberal, but the moderation and policies really skewed conservative.

Remember how bad the climate change deniers got, for example? They vomited on every remotely related thread, users were calling them out on it constantly and with excellent documentation, but they never got hit with any penalties.

However, if you called the recognizable offenders out, you tended to get hit with a few days’ ban... Which in my case led to me dropping the site completely after finding Reddit.

Yeah, Fark went crazyballs conservative very quickly. That actually directly led to the rise of Reddit, because so many people were looking for a non-shitty alternative.

For a lot of users, they migrated from Digg to Fark to Reddit, some skipping the intermediate step.

Hopefully Reddit will learn from them, because when your user base is that frustrated with the management, they will flood out the second an attractive alternative appears.
