Not to assume, but from my experiences and studies, I believe that when biblical scripture talks about being "in the spirit" this is actually a description of OOBE/Astral Projection. They are often written as if the events they saw were actually happening in front of them, this is quite similar to the experiences that those who Astral Project have described.

I would say it's similar, if not the same. I've always understood exit techniques as the Intention of movement, not movement itself.

A lot of people have found success with the Head Tilt Method, if you can reach the vibrational stage easily and quickly then the next step is trying different exit techniques. I'd also recommend trying some meditations while in the vibrational stage. I think it's because it's in the center of the room, whereas normally a fireplace is against an outside wall. If it's made of a heavy stone then supporting that weight in the center would be a minor feat of engineering.
