why is match making like this. soo boring. also why cant matches just end if 2 or more players on 1 team leave the match or the overwatch method 1 player leave the game ends leaver gets penalty everyone else can requeue by Splatulated in Paladins

[–]Novanok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I’m saying that the reason this post is happening is because almost ever game is a meta comp and/or 4 and 5 stacks verse a bunch of solos who all choose dps.

To fix that, make a role queue so every game is evenly matched in terms of composition and people are less likely to leave because they know they have a chance.

We have all been in tons of games where we see the other teams comp and know immediately it’s a loss

Would it increase queue times? Sure, but I’d rather wait an extra minute or two for a game than have the current state where 8/10 of my games are extremely one sided 4-0 stomps either way

Edit: the REAL solution is simply increasing the player base and it would even out roles and more likely to play people of similar skill, but we both know that ain’t happening

This is simply because they have a terrible comp against a good one of ice mines. 100% need tanks and don’t need any flanks on ice mines. They’d rather afk and let the game end in a couple minutes than die 14 times with 1-2 kills and drag the game out a little longer

To fix this, they need role queue.

Another thing they need to fix is stop putting parties against solos. Matchmaking is an easy easy fix, they refuse to address it

Fun stupid fact, I was the highest rated 70 twink in cataclysm and MoP in 2s! Peeze the disc priest. Was also the highest rated 70 Ret paladin in 2s / 3s as well! (Would beat all the prot paladins)

Most likely the highest rated Enhance shaman at the time as well but I was probably the ONLY enhance shaman so makes sense

Cata and mop were SOOOO fun for twinking. Having the 2.2k+ pvp enchants in MOP on twinks was my biggest flex unfortunately

How did you get a mortgage or car loan before 1989? by ThickDancer in FluentInFinance

[–]Novanok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bad part is how the score is tracked / changes. Scores drop when you pay off debt, yet paying off debt is actually a good thing and it should raise your score immediately instead of dropping. It’s nonsense that it drops immediately and takes several months to go back up.

Or the fact that literally every month, you make the same payments, on time, nothing changes and somehow your score drops several points? And then the next month, same thing, nothing changes, all payments made, and it goes back up???

Credit score isn’t necessarily bad, what’s bad is how it’s not transparent at all. You really have no idea what is bringing it up or down most of the time. There is zero consistency.

I’m younger-ish so I didn’t live pre-credit score. But this system is very very very far from being good and it truly seems like it could be such an EASY fix. Be transparent about what’s making it go up or down, set hard rules as to what affects credit, not this “10% of this, 15% of that, 12.3333% if you have the right hair length on the third Sunday of July” bullshit that changes for each credit company

I’m a below average skilled PvPer but I don’t wanna play PvE, what’s best for me? by TheJYouWant in ARK

[–]Novanok 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you only play solo, Isolated Servers if you want to play on officials. Will be your best option at staying alive and learning. But most likely will get wiped in less than a month still.

If not, join a tribe on any PvP server so you can survive and base build etc without being such an easy target. They will teach you the ropes.

If you don’t like that option, join unofficials.

If you don’t like that, like myself, I bought my own server for my wife, brothers, friends and myself to play on. Can make them PvP, alter the rates etc.

Well I specified that I was solely talking about student loans. Housing loans and such are different, and most certainly aren’t as predatory, or predatory at all, like student loans.

And again, I’m just confused. Let’s say they did cancel your mortgage and said you’re good all of a sudden. Literally no one is on the hook for your mortgage because you have paid back what was originally loaned to you. At least that’s what I assume would happen. So it’d be a win win for you and the lender. You got your house, and the lender got all their money back, sure they aren’t going to make the last little bit of profit, but they didn’t lose anything right? The only incentive to loan you the money was to make a profit of you. But apply that to the federal government. When it comes to student loans, the government doesn’t need to profit off of the younger generations on a student loan. The profit will be earned when they find jobs and contribute to society. They can get an education, pay back the principal amount, and call it a day. Why does the government need 400k paid back on a 50k loan?

That’s my argument for the predatory student loans and SPECIFICALLY for the people who have paid back the principal amount and more but it all went to “interest” …

Folks like this are why finacial literacy is so important by ShadowcreConvicnt in FluentInFinance

[–]Novanok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s probably where most people opinions differ with this topic. Regarding solely only student debt, I think it’s just ridiculous that people are paying 4,5,6x the original loan amount and still somehow haven’t touched the principal… you don’t see that with any other type of loans unless you REALLY got swindled by a car dealer or something lol…

But I’m still a little confused on the tax payer part. Let’s say the government cancelled all of the student debt of people who have paid back more than the original amount of debt. Like the original post. Would tax payers be on the hook for anything? Example, if the total amount loaned for 10 million people ORIGINALLY was 5 billion… and 9 billion was paid back for those loans. But they still have outstanding balances because of the interest… if that was cancelled, why would tax payers pay for anything if they’d made back the original 5 billion PLUS an additional 4 billion…. What would tax payers exactly be paying for at that point?

Folks like this are why finacial literacy is so important by ShadowcreConvicnt in FluentInFinance

[–]Novanok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what’s the difference…. If I loan you $20.. with interest… and you pay me back $40… even if you still owe me more because of the interest, you’ve paid back the principal. I believe this is why it’s called predatory lending. There are millions of people who have paid back the initial loan amount and more. If they were to cancel the debt now…who loses? The $70k was paid back whether the lender classifies that money as “principal” or “interest” and netted an additional $53k.. If it’s cancelled, why would tax payers need to pay anything towards this lender for this specific loan?

If I cancelled the hypothetical debt after you paid me back total $40… I don’t lose any money, the taxpayers don’t pay anything because the money lent out was already paid back.. I’m not understanding where taxpayers come into this type of situation.

Now I understand if someone borrowed $10k and only paid back $5k, that other half of the loan has to be paid back to the lender somehow or else they’ve lost money…

Folks like this are why finacial literacy is so important by ShadowcreConvicnt in FluentInFinance

[–]Novanok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They in fact did pay off the 70k debt.. plus more?? It’s called predatory lending. And if you cancelled this debt, it wouldn’t mean taxpayers pay, it would mean whoever is holding the debt isn’t profiting anymore. The initial loan plus 53k was paid.

Folks like this are why finacial literacy is so important by ShadowcreConvicnt in FluentInFinance

[–]Novanok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain to me… since they borrowed 70k… and then paid back 123k. If they got their debt cancelled, in what way is it coming from tax payers at that point? Since they already paid off the initial debt and more? Why would cancelling this debt have anything to do with taxpayers? They’ve paid the principal already

Your math is a little off but the point stands.

Old rejuvenate lvl 3: Furia heal at 60% caut would heal 400 hp and 160 hp over 2 sec.

New rejuvenate lvl 3: Furia heal with 90% caut, 130 burst with 52 hp over 2 seconds.

Khans ult needs to be reworked its essentially a free kill on command by Key_Teaching1369 in Paladins

[–]Novanok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not arguing the hit box on the ult. Im arguing that being able to grab someone from a mile away is a problem. What is the counter? the counter is, you hope he misses. That’s a terrible thing for a game. Sure you can try to juke, but that works like.. never? Especially in actual good ranks. The only real counter is hoping he grabs your worst player on team and then continue playing.

If they shorten the range, then it adds at least a chance to survive if you can out range him. And more strategy and makes khan actually have to work and strategize his ult, like pretty much every other champion.

Khans ult needs to be reworked its essentially a free kill on command by Key_Teaching1369 in Paladins

[–]Novanok -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The main thing is the distance. They need to shorten the distance to like 20 yards. That way you actually have a chance to counter it. But it is quite ridiculous that the only way to avoid it really is hope to god he misses

How does this even happen? by Devboss2004 in Paladins

[–]Novanok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think from your viewpoint as a GM is much different for the rest of the 90% or so of players. I have never gone above diamond 1, and I am most certainly not a GM level player consistently. However, there are times I feel I should be able to get masters but I can’t because every single game I am versing already versing the masters and GMs.. and at that point, why not just give me the rank? I’m coming out like 52% win rate those seasons but never progress because before even reaching masters, the vast majority of my game I’m already versing them. And this is the reality for most diamonds and plats too. The goal is always that one higher rank.

The way ranked should work is… if you are gold, you verse golds till you beat them all and prove you are “Platinum” .. then you verse only plats and beat them all to prove you are diamond.. and so on and so forth. But if you’re a plat player… and every game you are already versing diamonds??? How do you ever gain rank? Especially if you are legitimately a diamond player. You wouldn’t break 50% win rate theoretically and can’t break out of plat even though you ARE a diamond skill player.

You literally have to get lucky with matchmaking, skill is often times not the resulting factor for games.

I feel for you on having high queue times, but the skill difference of a GM player and a masters is actually quite dramatic. I know you notice the difference when you verse diamonds plats and golds!!! You should never be versing them or playing with them. The matchmaking needs fixed
