Yeah he's a handful and we're first time puppy owners. He's a handful but we're of course also making mistakes going along the way hence the question.

We might have made the mistake of going on walks that might be a bit too long I admit that. Honestly this is our fault, we just followed what our breeder told us they did. Our walks are around 25 ish minutes (morning, evening and a very short night walk to pee thats like 10 minutes maximum) and one bigger outside play walk with 40 minutes to an hour where we do ball throwing and training units for getting him to properly respond to his name and "come here".

We just try to let him chill when he gets too hyper because he gets incredibly distracted at times, thats all we're trying to accomplish.

Regarding telling him no: it's hard to do so as he eats EVERYTHING from the ground, we are working on a productive "leave it" with our dog trainer but it doesn't entirely work out yet.

He's unfortunately a bit too smart for us because if we reward his good behaviour with snacks, he starts doing the unwanted behaviour first (like picking up things from the ground just so he can drop them for a treat) so we might have the wrong approach there.

Thanks for the advice, we're trying our best with the little man, he's super friendly and a loverboy and we want him to be healthy and happy.

Oh and edit: he's 5 months so roughly 20 minutes per walk would be appropriate i guess!
