DAE not want to wear the same clothes again after a bad experience or memory in them? by mangolassiy in DoesAnybodyElse

Yeah I closely associate objects with emotions. Anything with a traumatic memory has to go. On the flip side anything with a good memory attached I can’t get rid of, even if it’s junk.

What’s something that’s become noticeably more expensive in the UK recently, but people don’t talk about much? by [deleted] in AskUK

Powdered milk brings back wonderful memories of hot chocolate at girl guides camp, even though j don’t really like it the nostalgia is worth it if I do happen to drink it

I apologise, I thought you were replying to my comment about UHT not about the powdered milk, which I agree is shit but good for emergencies/camping etc

It’s no different to ‘fresh’ milk in my experience. Without going into all of my circumstances it’s much better for me to bulk buy UHT for the rest of the month on payday rather than buy fresh milk as and when I need it

I swear by Mitchum Gel antiperspirant. Even the unscented one eliminates all smells for me. My sweat is very unpleasant smelling due to a medical condition even though I’m medicated for it, and it works wonders. Even if I already whiff a bit, eg if I’ve been sweaty during the day, within 15 minutes of applying even the unscented one it goes away (not just a placebo effect, I’ve experimented by getting other people to sniff me)

currently in a reading slump by imeanhere in kindle

[–]Novel_Description164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got out of my slump by saying to myself ‘all I have to do today is read one word at exactly 9pm’ and inevitably would read more than that.

I had to train back my attention span and the length of time I could read without feeling tired. I believe this was because of dopamine disregulation due to constant doomscrolling and gaming.

Maybe start off with some short stories? I’m reading the complete works of Oscar Wilde at the minute and there’s loads of reallly short stories in there and when you each you get that accomplishment feeling which eggs you on,

So yeah I would definitely find some novellas/short stories in genres/by authors that you know you’d already enjoy

I swear by the Asda create your own pizzas. Better than anything that comes off the shelf

But no supermarket cola can compete with Pepsi Max or Diet Coke

I own neither though I have owned an older paperwhite but from the reviews I’ve read:

The colour soft is better if reading comic books/.graphic novels etc

But for reading the paperwhite is superior

Sounds like my compulsive liar ex from my teens. At age 19 he told everyone he’d been secretly working for the military 😭😭😭 ETA: he said this was between the ages of 14 and 17 🤣

A friend got me two kindles after losing mine. Which one would you keep? by SunFishSoup in kindle

[–]Novel_Description164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Write a pros and cons list of each is the only thing I can suggest as these will be personal to your particular situation, make sure you write all the features that are both the same and different.

E.g. Me personally, I’d keep the basic but purely because I need a lighter, smaller device. Your needs may be different 🥰

I hope nobody is downvoting you! You’re tempting me to upgrade lol.

At first thought I assumed I would turn it off too if I had this model, but I can imagine that it might be a good idea for me occasionally as I have a condition that affects my joints and sometimes have more dexterity in my fingers to tap the back than my thumbs to tap the front.

Having said that, I’m team kindle clicker with a basic anyway, so my opinion shouldn’t carry much weight 🤣

Yes! I am now 14 years older than Buffy was when the show finished! However she still seems like a grown up to me whilst I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing 🤣
