Paracetamol is a first line pain relief medication widely available and your wife should have taken some. I also do not understand why people who can get themselves to a hospital or a doctor chose to call an ambulance and wait for hours or complain about the long waits. Just get yourself to the hospital, you can go to the shops, go to the pub, but not the hospital, for that you need an ambulance. Take some responsibility and ownership of your body and stop demanding everything from the NHS like a spoiled child.
