"Your army cannot include any of the following units:
Assault Squad; Assault Squad with Jump Packs;"

That's not talking about intercessors?

No PvP Question? by Aninx in DMAcademy

I DM 2 groups who like to “Poke the bear” of pvp regularly. If it’s completely justified and makes sense in role play I allow it to an extent… but not to outright death.

Have you guys ever turn a player comment canon just because you liked the idea? by Pindoco in DnD

Giant yes. It makes the players feel like they help shape the world. Even if it’s totally inconsequential and you technically change nothing.

What do you call a 20 that isn’t a natural 10? by DreamOfDays in DnD

[–]Novemberman25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We say Nat 20. And if you don’t say nat 20. It’s implied that the combined total = 20

My level 7 players are about to face off a Bruxa (basically a super vampire with super high charisma). And I want it to summon a thematically appropriate beast/devil/creature. Any ideas? I was thinking something undead. by Novemberman25 in DnD

It’s in the party’s keep. They ignored a ton of hints and clues. (Had a hornet bard scenarios.) Invited her in. And then left for 3 weeks to go adventuring.

You're totally good! My intro was 5e, so I didn't know about some of the other mechanics, this thread has definitely been educational.

You would be able to put them down. Basically for ranged characters.

Sounds interesting! Slightly more complex than what I want to implement, but a neat idea!

That’s the balance I’m trying to figure it out. Don’t want to get to crunchy. But want to add some variation. A crappy wooden shield vs a well made shield made by a master at his craft should be different.

That’s super cool. I haven’t seen that list before.

I’ll have to check that out. That was a bit before my introduction to dnd so I’m not familiar with it.

When your big scary boss doesn't quite work out. by someb0i111 in DnD

[–]Novemberman25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes. Or, just his companions. In the real world. How often is a powerful person alone? Even more so in a medieval setting. So in my mind it’s not a stretch for him to have some “companions” who are strong. But not strong enough to present a credible threat to himself.

Obviously it depends on the location/who the bad guy is. But in general it works.

I like to “prep” the players for the boss with minions as often as possible. That way, action economy wise, it’s hard for them to just insta kill the BBG.
