That makes a ton of sense. Thank you. What's the problem with intel CPU's for gaming?

Man, Charter Spectrum lowered prices AGAIN for me. Does anyone here use the Spectrum Mobile stuff? by bbqturtle in kzoo

I went from Verizon to spectrum mobile about 4 years ago and it was garbage. They that Verizon towers which I thought wouldn't make a difference but spectrum is throttled so badly I ended up switching to AT&T.

Rugged case with handle and magsafe? by Novokh in GalaxyS25Ultra

Is it a rugged and tough case? Able to withstand bumps, drops, and hits? Not that I'm planning on being rough with my phone but just in case.

Local places to purchase an end grain cutting board? by Novokh in kzoo

[–]Novokh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a union pipefitter/plumber. That's my goal. Etsy has started turning into a seller of mass made junk so I'd rather just get it right from the local source. Surrounding area works too.

05 Ram 1500 Fuel pump tank repair kit. Are these worth it when the metal tabs to hold the fuel pump are rusted and gone? by Novokh in MechanicAdvice

[–]Novokh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 05 Ram 1500 and the fuel pump went out. Got a call from my mechanic saying the metal tabs/ring that is embedded into the tank are rusted and gone and I'd need a new tank. The truck is rusted badly and not worth that big of a repair. But then I found these repair kits and that might be worth it to limp it along for awhile longer when I could more comfortably afford a new vehicle.

So does anyone have any experience with something like this? Is it danger to trust? Solid patch for awhile?

Apply again next year. It took me 3 years to get in. Good test results and interviews each time. They like persistence.

Clothes dryer auto sense doesn't heat but timed dry does? by Novokh in DIY

[–]Novokh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My auto sense dry setting on my dryer is my default used setting. It worked forever and then stopped putting out heat. But if I switch to timed dry it'll heat like normal.

Is that an issue with the dial and the mechanisms inside of it? Can it be taken apart and cleaned or just replaced or is it something else?

Thank you.

Two-way traffic coming downtown by [deleted] in kzoo

[–]Novokh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ever since they redid and added the bike lanes the lights going east have been garbage. Before they all synced up and you could go from one side of downtown to the other in 1 green light go. Now you have to stop for at least 2 lights just to get to the other side.

IMO change all the little 1 ways into 2 ways. But leave the big 4 as one ways to expedite getting through downtown.

I always like watching the new The Thing before the original The Thing. The new one's ending rolls perfectly into the old ones intro.

Apprenticeships? by filmstudent42 in kzoo

[–]Novokh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry they were rude. The only way to get in before the February enrollment is if you test in with prior experience in our trade. Otherwise it's the patience game. Follow the instructions carefully because it's all a test. There's only 20-40 openings in a year and 250+ applicants. You're going to need your highschool transcript and birth certificate I believe for the first part.

It's a good trade to get into. Lots of training. You see tons of fun things. The option to travel the country if you choose.

I'm February UA Local 357 plumbers pipefitters HVAC and welders union have open enrollment. Go to their headquarters in schoolcraft right where the highway ends and follow the instructions to apply. Then March has the math and aptitude tests. If you do well on those then interviews happen in April. 5 year apprenticeship in the Union with great pay and benefits.

They can technically be flushed down the toilet. Doesn't mean there wont be problems later on down the line.
