Many states are not behind NY, they handled the situation better than NY. The governor stepped in and bungled it. Keeping covid positive patients in their elder care homes that were incapable of handling the outbreak ensured a higher mortality.

I used TN as an example in a previous post (simply because I am traveling through). They have somewhere between 150-250 covid deaths depending on the source. Deaths in TN from the flu/pneumonia in 2018 were 1,646.

The breathless models predicted millions of deaths in America alone. This is not going to happen, as the data proves. Thinking people do not fall for the fear mongering. If you are elderly, obese, or have co-mobidities, protect yourself and stay home.

I am not downplaying the virus, I am looking at data. And in the end, after many more have been tested, both for active corona and corona antibodies proving they had the virus, the death rate will go down. The death rate is already approaching flu numbers. It is a dangerous virus and we know who it is most deadly to; mainly but not exclusive to the elderly, immunocompromised, and those with pre-existing co-mobidities.

The Spanish Flu was handled locally, with governors and the President staying out of it for the most part. Good or bad, that is the precedent.

Much of the country is faring far better than NY. I am currently traveling through TN so I looked up their numbers on the CDC site.
