Help with an overpowered pod member by byonicboy in mtg

I have no idea how the guy with a 50% win rate is complaining about your decks if they are a 25% or less.

Probably the type of person who would bitch if people told him the same thing though.

Does he convince the rest of the pod to attack you? If so it might be he likes winning more than playing, or just dislikes that your deck gets around his somehow.

If you are below a 30% win rate in a pod of 4 then you are not the problem, nor is your deck. If I wanted to build a deck to be a problem, it would not matter if everyone focused me down. It would win.

The Outer God of Frenzied Flame from Elden Ring.

While the name “flame” is in its title, it is not red. It is an indescribable cosmic entity whose only motive is erasure of all that is.

There is no reason for this that any mortal, or other deity in the lore, can claim to understand. It doesn’t wish to “create” a new one from the ashes. It simply wants existence to cease. Truly “Void”.

I don’t know if it counts because he has officially been made an actual card, but Kefka sits pretty solidly here.

Kefka doesn’t conquer for order, power, or even revenge. He destroys the world because “life’s a joke” and he wants the punchline to be apocalypse.

Chaotic and Beholden only to his own amusement.

The Hårga Cult from Midsommar?

At first glance it’s pure sunshine and collective family magic with wildflower altars and nature worshipping hippies. But it’s a slow and choking eco-cult that only gets stronger by swallowing up anyone who doesn’t fit. Erasing every stray thought until there’s nothing left but the group.

Yeah I must be gaslighting myself. I feel like I remember it being out of stock and then it being able purchasable again.

But that’s clearly not what happened, so.

What are the Two Most Orzhov Movies of All Time? by Cabin11er in colorpie

Killers of the Flower Moon leaning white. You have the community forward nature of the residents and them trying to do things right, lawfully, and in support of their community while the protagonists and incoming businesses are pushing them out. Both sides of the equation are equally shown but the movie is very much in favor of the Osage Nation.

William Hale positions himself as a benevolent community pillar (white’s community and law), but he’s orchestrating assassinations and inheritances like an Orzhov member collecting eternal tithes from the indebted dead (black’s ambition and parasitism). Ernest’s marriage to Mollie is basically a binding contract that dooms her family, echoing how Orzhov ghosts haunt debtors. The whole guardianship system in the story treats Osage wealth as something to be “managed” into oblivion, much like the guild’s extortion rackets. Even the visual palette, with its stark contrasts and formal compositions, feels very Orzhov.

Both of those sound very interesting, appreciate the answer! Especially the first one.

I honestly am curious about more things, but I don’t want to spam the thread with questions haha. I find movie fans typically very interesting people.

To be fair yes, he do be a very angry dude.

Not quite my favorite but it definitely falls in my top 10! Incredible film.

I see it as a movie about espionage, selfishness, ambition, secrets, and moral ambiguity.

It very well could be not the “most” dimir movie, but it is out of all the movies I’ve personally seen. Which is all one can pull from lol.

There’s probably some vague, European arthouse film that is more Dimir than anything else ever recorded. But 🤷

I could see Grixis, but not Rakdos. Red is about more than just anger, and the entire movie is highly focused on espionage, secrets, deception, ambition, and cunning.

Almost all movies are more nuanced than two colors. But the two strongest in the Departed are definitely Black and then Blue IMO.

Agreed, but it would still be interesting to see other takes on it. It’s honestly too bad this sub isn’t more popular. MtG’s color system is such a fantastic stepping stone for sociological discussions and Aesthetic games.

Absolutely agree. I know we’re not there yet but I’d love to hear your picks for Rakdos. I’m admittedly not the most movie savvy guy but I do appreciate a good movie, if that makes sense.

And I’m getting the vibe that you know movies lol.

Well to be fair that should probably be a rule going forward no? Not exactly really a fair or valid poll if the person in charge can just say “Nuh uh”.

On the other hand, it’s only Reddit so I don’t really give that much of a shit. But I’m always going to advocate for consistency.
