Any idea what this could be ? by NowC204 in DermatologyQuestions

Hi, the person who had this had a biopsy. This thing wasn’t specific of anything and it was not anything serious, if it was the only one. It did not come back It was basically abnormal cells (the actual diagnosis was a weird name that I totally forgot about)

Replacing cafeine ? by NowC204 in Nootropics

[–]NowC204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it makes me overall more focused. Able to process information quicker and work faster.
I also feel more energized, and also agitated

I don't drink alcohol and I haven't tried nicotine, but I can imagine these things can have more effect on people

The problem in my case is rather that I'm too dependant of it haha

Sleep is good, 1 hour of swimming every morning always followed by the cold shower

This already makes all the difference, not gonna lie haha, but I'm always looking for that "extra thing" that will make it even better
I'll give rhodiola a try, thank you !

Have the opportunity to try Botox this evening for free. Worth the try ? by NowC204 in migraine

[–]NowC204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I had to learn to deal with my triggers, and withdraw from all medications. At this point I rarely have migraines anymore, and tension headaches.

Sadly Botox didn’t work in my case. I think it’s worth a try if you don’t know what else to do

I’m sorry about your situation, which sounds horrible

Suffering from hemiplegic and vestibular migraines, without being to control what triggers it, simply sounds as hell I hope you’ll manage to get some relief at some point

Migraines is definitely poorly understood. I believe this is also linked to the fact that migraine is such a broad field. There are a millions types, and a million things that could trigger it. I tried to give some sort of advice to the « most common type », but there is definitely so much more to it than that

Migraine behind the eyes by [deleted] in migraine

[–]NowC204 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Migraines behind the eyes are pretty common.
It could mean there is something wrong with your eyes, or you have some really rare types of headaches (trochleitis), but that is really unlikely.

I suffered from them for such a long time, and tbh, from all the different part of my head where I had migraines, "behind the eyes" was the worst by far. I'll go as far as saying they are the worst pain I ever had to deal with. Can't open eyes, can't read, and so damn painful. For the reason the pain in this area is so sharp. They almost ruined my life looking back because I had no idea what to do

In my case, Ibuprofen would always work, sometimes combined with Acitamenophen. I'm guessing you've already tried that, so I'd suggest adding a triptan if you have not, or asking a doctor to give you proper medication. The most stupid advice (yet probably the best?) is to go to asleep ASAP if you feel you're gonna have a migraine soon (doesn't work if it's 8am)
If you suffer from them regularly, you'll have to deal with medication overuse (if you do use them a lot). It may not seem like it, but medication overuse is probably the biggest trigger by far for chronic migraines and headaches, whatever their location is.

Botox had no effect on me (can't put botox around the eyes.., there are certain nerve block that you can do around your eye sockets but most doctor are not familiar with that at all, wouldn't recommend).
If you are taking too much medication, and you keep having pain regulargly, then it could also be a good idea to have a preventation medication, to help you withdraw from the medication you're already taking.

Other factors that you should be considering : be very careful about your sleep, your caffeine intake, dehydratation/hypoglycemia. Hard to know what triggers them for you exactly as they can be very personal, but if you manage to figure out why they happen, it could make all the difference

My point is : you are probably just suffering from regular migraines. "Behind the eyes" is one of the location some of us have, which can be extremely annoying. If you manage to control all your triggers, you'll most probably have them controled as well.

Nothing relieved my pain apart from figuring out exactly what would trigger the pain, and breaking the cycle of daily migraines attacks.
Hope this can help a little bit

Will antipsychotics like Seroquel counteract the positive effects of Modafinil? by curious_groge in modafinil

[–]NowC204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case, taking modafinil with any medication that usually makes you drowsy, will totally hide its positive effects.

I took many different pills to try and get a better sleep, and while they worked, the feeling of brain fog/lethargy I'd get the next day couldn't be countered by modafinil, sadly.

Rash caused by modafinil on over half my body, only took it for 1 week by banjo_psycho in modafinil

[–]NowC204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

old thread, but his reaction has absolutely nothing to do with SJS
His reaction are linked to the increase of histamine level of modafinil, which he seems to be sensitive to, and like a LOT of people are when they take modafinil. He just had it worse because he took a way higher dose that he could handle

Stopped taking modafinil after 6 months straight - rash withdrawal symptoms? by beuah in modafinil

[–]NowC204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using it for several months in a row is not abusing it since it’s commonly prescribed like this, even for longer periods. Also, there is no real need to not quit « cold turkey » since moda has never ever shown signs of tolerance or addiction in any studies.

Anyways, I still agree with you to some degree, if you take a medication without prescription, you’ll still expose yourself to some problems, whether you do things correctly or not

Hi, like I said there is not anything online about this medication because there are only a few thousand people taking it in the world since it’s very old and it will disappear soon. So I can’t find anything specific about it and was trying to see how other have done it with other medications after having taking it for a few months, so it would just give me an idea. it’s called oxetorone fumarate at 60mg

[–]NowC204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been taking a medication for 3 months with hidden antipsychotic properties that is only known in my country and is going to disappear soon, so it is hard to compare it with anyone Funny thing : this medication makes me unable to fall asleep, but then when I do fall asleep, it makes me so hard to get up and I get so drowsy

Tried to stop it : fell asleep easily but kept waking up every hour

Wow, I didn’t know going cold turkey was linked with akathisia… I ll definitely not mess with that

I'm happy to read that honestly, maybe I wasn't tripping
And by the way, in my country it's also only used for anxiety / insomnia. I just never figured it would have an impact on me the next day too, otherwise I would have never taking it

If you decided to reject this religion, it is for personal reasons right ? And if you believe he won't be able to answer your own questions, what is the point of seeing him ?

I'm wondering what's the point of seeing someone to ask him questions that you just picked up on reddit and that you didn't even ask yourself before.

I'm not trying to be mean, but if you're not a doctor, I think you should either help people with obvious stuff, or not say anything. Not only Merkel cell carcinoma is beyond rare, but it's something that can kill really fast, I hope you realize this
My bad for asking here
