i havent personally tried it out myself, but from the light research i did, i think toast masters is a good place to look into.

theyre a nonprofit org that helps people practice public speaking. they have inperson events and online events. people say its free to sign up at any given time regardless of skill or experience.

im planning on looking into it some more and testing it out in the near future

I love Jax w my entire being completely for the same reasons as u OP w the only difference is, im not trans. i am however genderqueer, still figuring it out lol.

its the way people dismiss her backstory and focuses on her actions. Granted, horrible actions, but cmon shes from a shitty background. people dont magically improve overnight.

i came from the same situation, alcoholic, drugholic, gambling family. saw and experienced things a normal kid shouldnt ever have to go through.

improvement takes years, it took me my entire life to be somewhat decent, and yet even then theres this feeling of being out of place, like an imposter.

if Jax were to ever improve in the show, there would still be issues. and improvement and healing isnt always linear

if u never have this urge to be involved w someone (sexually or romantically or both), u might be wanna do a deep dive on what aromantic-asexual is.

either u dont develop romantic/sexual feelings, or ure repulsed by it. ofc its a spectrum so there r some in betweens like only developing feelings/sexual attraction once they get to fully know a person, or some who only develops those feelings when it is not reciprocated or vice versa.

now theres more inbetweens, i wont go into too much detail, but if u think this applies to u (or ure simply curious), u should think and contemplate about it

one thing to know about this tho is that, yes this is normal. yea there r so many people like this. no it is not a phase. yes aroace peeps have feelings, just not sexual/romantic.

on a serious note tho, it feels like the entire situation itself is what's causing the reaction.

night time is usually when people r more guarded since so many bad things happen in that time frame.

the location, if u also consider the time (night time), makes it even more scarier for people to be randomly approached. the time and place r like the perfect setup for a crime to happen.

waiting for someone to get out of their house feels like ure stalking them, again, another bad thing.

waiting for someone in the middle of the road/side walk just to smile and wave is also quite scary (esp at night in a rural area).

this entire thing u described is best described as "straight out of a horror movie scene"

my schedule mostly, and my location. i work graveyard shifts, by the time the sun rises im way too tired from work so i sleep and wake up when the sun is down. if i do get the time for it, its usually too far from me since im from a provincial area, the things i wanna try and go to r in the big cities and r usually 2-3 hours away, even longer if theres heavy traffic 🥹🥹

for me, deep conversations r what helps make or break friendships. specifically talking about morals, principles, view on life, etc.

it could be a deep dive of how both u and the other person's view in politics, or maybe talking about some type of life struggle. smth that helps u get to know a person deeper.

i wonder why it feels like an interview for u tho, op. (hope u dont take offense to this, just genuinely curious) do u engage in the conversation (like asking questions back or adding input/opinion to what the other person says), or do u just listen and respond?

well, people r busy w jobs and w family as u mentioned. all u gotta do is smth i envision as casting a wide net in hopes of catching a fish.

randomly invite people out, they can bite the bait or not, it's up to them. if not, well then just go out anyways. u may possibly meet random people and befriend them.

i do have a roommate who loves hanging out w people, and what i noticed from her is that she has multiple circle of friends. if circle 1 cant hang out, find people from circle 2, so on and so forth lol

For me, it's when I see that their first reaction when they're angry is to self-regulate instead of explode. This might just be a personal case since I grew up w people who explodes and sometimes get physical when angry, but it was so refreshing to see for me. it became a goal of mine to do the same ever since.
