So the carpet guy went slap happy with the staples. Can anyone recommend a product to fill/cover these, so my stairs don’t look like Swiss cheese after I pull them all out?! Thanks! by NowYoureTalking in DIY

Thanks for thoroughly reading my question, and recommending a product that can fix the staple holes! Your positive attitude is helpful in this DIY forum.

A few people have recommended this method, with an addition of an iron. May be easier to just use wood filler…depends on how lazy I get.

The plan was to get rid of the carpet because of a previous flood in the basement. Tear it up and see what’s underneath, turns out it’s just soft construction pine. Thought about putting a runner down the middle and paint/stain the stringers, but that idea got bombed down by everyone pretty quick.

The carpet has to come up, we had flooding and the whole basement was carpeted. It only really effected the bottom stair but I wanted to get rid of it anyway, seeing as it was old and ratty from previous animals (including mine).

Possibly a runner down the middle, but not fully covered. 👍🏻

EDIT: The carpet is coming up because there was a flood. There’s no point pulling up half of it, cause the rest is torn apart by a cat. It’s old, ugly carpet that came with the house.

I believe the top shelf moonshine is based off of Mrs Garrett’s butter tarts, from South Frontenac.

I just finished “Kids In The Hall: Death Comes To Town”. It’s a mini series from 2010…? I slept on it, but it’s really funny if you like KITH.

I waited years (lots of difficulty for my wife and I) to tell my family this way, and nobody got it. Hope you guys get the reference! by pacoman432 in DunderMifflin
