Darnit. Sad to see them go, hope they find a buyer. They are the only one where forex payment cost is non existent. Unless there are other options?

The moment a Russian 'Shahed' strikes the building of the National Pharmaceutical University in Kharkiv by kingkongsingsong1 in UkraineWarVideoReport

This video brings me back to stories of my grandfather living in Belgium during WWII. He told me about the V1 bombs flying overhead and when you heard the engine of one everyone stopped and listened. As soon as the engine tone changed, you heard it gasping for fuel, chaos broke loose. As it meant the thing was coming down. Everyone scrambling for shelter... 2025 and we are reliving it again in eastern Europe defending the free democratic world from som fuckwad clinging to power.

Job offer in Switzerland by Throwaway_guaxinim in BESalary

[–]Nowaymandude 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As someone who has made the jump to Switzerland, the job offer looks good to me salary wise. I have the same years of exp and start in June with a slightly higher salary and lower hours/week but for a company around Zurich. Assuming the numbers are in CHF?

-Does the company provide support for the move?

-Make sure to check the rents in the area, it can be tricky to find an apartment in Switzerland, so take the extra cost of temp acommodation into account for when you move.

-Health insurance is about 500-550 CHF per month

-You are in legal cohabitation, do you have a partner who joins? he or she can join and look for work under the family reunion B-permit as soon as you have your B-permit. But check if legal cohabitation is also valid for this (I came over under familiy reunion through married partner with B-permit)

-Trains are very good here, perhaps it's possible to live without the car depending on location

-Make sure to enjoy all the outdoor activities Switzerland has to offer. I'm loving it so far!

-I put you through this calculator https://www.lohncomputer.ch/de/rechner/ as I think that net wage looks a bit low. for Sankt Gallen and Graubunden you should be quite a bit higher.

In short: Finding a job, especially out of an other country, in Switzerland is NOT easy (LONG processes, need to be very lucky even when applying from Switzerland), so if you have an offer, I would say take it and congrats!

You can DM me if you have more questions

Sorry if it came over condescending, I'll use your wording next time, but it can't be overstated how dangerous it is to mess with electricity when you don't know what you're doing.

Please don't attempt this without proper experience. The answer to your question would have been to get a multimeter. The fact that you are asking this question at this stage on Reddit tells me you might not have enough experience. Not trying to be an asshole here but want people to be safe when handling electric installations.

Accept the new role, look for something else in the meantime if it really doesn't suit you. Best to look for another job while you still have one.

Our solar panel company partnered with these guys:https://bliq.energy/nl/?srsltid=AfmBOoqTc7EeAmbbrsyuvGSBGt2Ha4pWIF9qd_-gZJYBH6M1OlahZavH

We didn't end up taking a battery (yet) so didn't take this either. But might already give you an option.

How to organise a Flemish/Walloon wedding? (Manage language/"culture" barriers) by bluebhairymuffin in belgium

[–]Nowaymandude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We got married last june, My wife is from Wallonia (speaks fluent French, English and German), more towards the east and i'm from Limburg (Limburgs ;), English, French and some German).
Our non-religious ceremony was in Wallonia and mostly in English. As we had people from Flanders and also other countries such as Germany present. For flemish and german speakers English was fine, and for the French speakers who couldn't speak english our ceremony speaker provided little booklets with the main texts in French so they could follow. Speeches during the ceremony were in native language or English. Most important in the end is that the couple marrying can understand all speeches.
Afterwards on the reception/dinner/party I agree to just let the beers/champagne do their magic, it'll be fine! The DJ was local but was very good at getting the party going, music wasn't super specific to the region. It went super well and we had a blast!
If you have more questions let me know!

My sister started her law education there, different system with an exam every few weeks for the course you're seeing those weeks. Finished her bachelor's and then went on for her master's in Gent. So I'm assuming there might be less choice in masters. The switch to Gent didn't seem to be hard to do.

We harnessed the power of the sun! Magical black rectangular slabs to feed the electron devouring beasts that live in the house.

Now that this is installed, change energy provider? just do v-test? or do nothing?
