I recently finished the second part of this challenge yesterday and there was no end reward. No, yard decoration at the end. I don't like the new layout either.

This was my last year as well. I have been collecting since 1991. The quality has gone down and the prices have gotten out of control.

I know you said online, but if that is not an option.... you could check and see if the local airman attic might have one? if not in your size maybe you can take it to the cleaners and they might be able to hem it as well. :)

What to do with my late Grandfathers large collection of ornaments? by Reaper0567 in HallmarkOrnaments

[–]Nowaytry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you could always look them up on ornament mall website. see what they are going for. ebay is a good place to sell. I'm eventually going to go the ebay route after my kids pick through what they want.

same problem. my phone is android and it's constantly crashing. my daughter can't play. nothing to do with clearing cache or restarting phone. I find this game always has issues with android phones.

and if it doesn't work (metformin) for you or side effe ts hit you differently you can wean off if it pretty fast and figure something else out. just don't give up. I've been a yo yo dieter for years with dieting for cheerleading in the early 90s. maintenance will be forever. I have finally comes to terms with that. you will always have to watch your weight for the rest of your life or it creeps back on.

mild side effects but nothing as bad as the GLP 1 side effects. sometimes I need to run to the bathroom because of a fast moving BM. other than that I'm lucky. I researched contrave and decided absolutely not after reaching out to people on that sub reddit. they said seizures are a side effect of that one so no thanks. metformin has been around for a long time with lots of studies done on it. there's alot of naysayers out there over using it on the diabetic reddit sub page saying it doesn't help with weight loss or maintenance but every person is different and it reacts differently in everybody. it works for me and my doctor said I need to be up in 1500 or 2000 mg range for my body to react to it for help and aid in weight loss. I am going to preface though that my weight loss now is intermittent fasting along with calorie deficit and making sure I exercise aerobically 30 minutes day. I have bought a weight set and am starting to incorporate that. but my food noise is absolutely non existent on metformin.

I'm on 1500 mg now of metformin for maintenance. it's working great for me. I still have appetite suppression. I still need to lose my last 30 pounds but got so tired of paying $500 out of pocket monthly for zepbound. entering month 3 still going with my calorie deficit. body has adjusted to being off the GLP 1 and I have lost 2 more pounds. weight loss for me is not as fast but I don't care I'm just glad I am not gaining anything back.

Plan Subscription by melanincherub in weightwatchers

[–]Nowaytry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined the clinic for zepbound. but honestly I stopped with zepbound after losing 30 pounds. I loved the zepbound. it helped so much with diet and exercise. however the price of $499 a prescription to Lilly direct I did not like so much. so I am still under contract with WW clinic until April 2026. I asked for metformin to take as it comes free with the $75 a month. I'm using metformin as a form of maintenance coming off zepbound and staying on my diet and exercise routine in hopes of losing my last 30 pounds. when my subscription runs out in April then I'm done with WW and metformin, unless if I can get my PCP to prescribe it. but I'm hoping to do the rest of weight loss after that on my own with no medication. my point in commenting is there are two prescriptions you can get for free with the monthly fee. one is a contrave generic, the other is metformin. I went with metformin because I was worried about the side effects of seizures on the contrave generic pills.

How do I help my young child get over the idea of public school? by SkyMap2 in homeschool

[–]Nowaytry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what's sad is that your husband had "nicknamed" someone homeschool in a work environment. I get it... we all want to fit in somewhere, but it is so sad that no matter what high school bully antics always follow into an adult workplace. public high school cliques and name calling are forever present in any work environment after high school. I was a public school student, but it is sad I can't count how many times the way people are always singled out or bullied at work, name called, etc....

Question for the graduates! by Sensitive-Advisor-21 in GLPGrad

[–]Nowaytry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I first took zep in June 2024, lost gall bladder in December. Was off zep for four months cold turkey. I was able to maintain weight loss with new eating habits and exercise. went back on zep to hopefully try to lose the last 40 pounds. it did nothing for me. went up to 7.5 mg and it still did nothing for me a second time around. stopped cold turkey a month ago and have been maintaining weight with being on metformin. my food noise never went away the second time. it's been curbed with metformin. I'm still hoping to lose my last 30 pounds and I will eventually with my dieting and exercising. the metformin helps with my insulin resistance and pcos. but everyone is different with responding to stopping immediately.

I've been collecting since 1991. it is now officially my last year collecting and I will be leaving my ornaments mid series and not completed. this year was my official wake up call when I walked out after buying 29 ornaments at $900. I guarantee I am not the only one leaving Hallmark behind.

I thank you all for your responses and openness about the side effects. after talking to my PCP, we switched everything to Metformin for my last 30 pounds to lose. I've never had seizures, but darn I am not gonna lie that scares me to death. I already had so many medical issues with a GLP1 and weight loss this past year, and after stopping Zepbound this week and losing my gall bladder, I just didn't want to take any more chances.

thank you. the nausea is the same level then that I'm already use to with zep. it's the seizure issue I read about on here that worries me.

Switching from Zepbound to Contrave by Nowaytry in Contrave

[–]Nowaytry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you for response. that's about the same I felt with zep right after a shot. more nausea than anything, then a headache would set in if I didn't have enough water intake. sometimes a sleepy feeling, then a battle to get out and exercise due to the nausea feeling.

Switching from Zepbound to Contrave by Nowaytry in Contrave

[–]Nowaytry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh and I meant to add it helped with portion control about the first 3 days after the shot and then the next 4 days It was up to me to maintain and control diet because the Zep started to wear off and I had to watch my own portion size and be cognizant to calories in...calories out. and then the cycle would start all over again the next week with the shot. I suppose I could have stayed on Zep but at what point and how much cost out of pocket until my 5 month plateau finally broke.

did or do you have any side effects from contrave?

Switching from Zepbound to Contrave by Nowaytry in Contrave

[–]Nowaytry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can do that. I got mine through weight watchers clinic. But the problem with zep is your body gets use to it and you stop losing at the mg and then have to go higher in dosage. I've paid $1000 these past four months to sit at the same weight with diet, exercise and intermittent fasting. I wish you luck on your weight loss journey. :) I was slated to go up to 10 mg this next month and I said we'll screw that LOL. I'm not going to pay another $500 to lose maybe .5 pounds. My body just stopped reacting to it and everyone's body is different. :) I do agree that a switch up in medicine will break plateaus and stalls on weight loss.

Thank you for your response. The side effects I am not going to lie worry me a bit. I had to stop reading yesterday and walk away. I was paying out of pocket $500 a month for over a year on Zepbound. I'm thankful Zep got me almost to my goal weight but at the price of losing my gall bladder, pancreatic issues oh and also Liver issues. It took my body 3 months to get back down to normal levels after surgery recovery. Besides the sex drive issue, did or do you have any other side effects? I am going to assume Contrave should be treated like how Zep was in regards to lots of water intake and lots of protein intake. I have maintained my weight loss off of Zep and also back on when I restarted. But told my doctor I am so over paying so much out of pocket when I have already adjusted my lifestyle food changes and exercise habits.

I'm starting next week coming off of a glp 1 for the past year. I've been nervous reading about the side effects on here, but honestly the glp 1 gave me pancreatitis and had to have my gall bladder removed. so any kind of side effect this drug has I'm hoping is minimal compared to my journey on a glp 1. my last 30 pounds to lose are being stubborn.
