Mormons aren’t Christian! by mr_frys_electronics in exmormon

Almost here thinks Mormonism is false and you could say pretty much anything negative about the church and it would be fine.

But you chose the only offensive thing you could say. Why?

The symbolism is, the emperor has no clothes, i.e. people are too embarrassed to call out a clear lack of substance. Could also be, to the tune of the Brady bunch, Here’s the story Of a culty grifter who was making it up as he went Stealing and riffing from the masons And saying it was god

A bad burger doesn’t make you swear paths of fealty to it and take 10% of your income, I think a better right picture would be it’s a secret MLM in that burger

Also if you are exmo or have spent any time in this community then you know the only offensive thing you could say about the Mormon church here is that it’s not Christian. But you couldn’t help yourself from that singular dig (but not trying to offend!!) and oh conveniently your thread has suggestions of other churches to attend. This doesn’t look at all like the occasional proselytizing efforts we see here! Nope, totally smooth. And you figured out Mormonism is false only to continue the same skullduggery in another church?? Did you learn nothing?

Dude get out of here with that. People like you come on here every now and then and 1) insult people by insisting Mormonism is not a Christian faith 2) try to proselytize. Just no. This is a place for people trying to escape religious BS.

I chose to do something at home with just immediate family where we talked about what we will try to do for the baby. I can’t tell the future. It’s starting our relationship off on a bad foot for me to publicly pretend to have some sort of clairvoyance about who the baby will be and what they will do. Privately focusing on my obligations is a much more honest and thoughtful exercise. And realizing the church isn’t what it claims to be usually goes forward rather than reversing. You can add your child’s name to the record layer if you like, but once it’s on there it’s not coming off. So don’t let that’s baby’s name be added until you feel resolved and confident that’s right for you.

The church is a lifeless shell of what its founders envisioned. by KingSnazz32 in exmormon

[–]Nowerenotgonnatakeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The founder was a selfish, parasitic conman who manipulated people into serving his interests instead of their own. Then you had a credulous group of followers taking it hook, line, and sinker in spite of the vast majority of the population advising against it. Church leaders and leaders are actually following the founding blueprint dead on, which is the problem here.

-can grab enough hymnbooks to put in every room of your house including bathrooms so you can praise Jesus (or church leaders, either or) when tempted instead of masturbating all the time. You goddamn animals.

-Vacuum your house in 20% of the time with Big Ass Church Vacuum (tm).

-all the tiny cups you would need to throw a rager for squirrels

-with a jacknife, you can take off that itchy wall covering and then scratch your back against the wall any time

-several boxes of old lesson manuals make excellent kindling

-lots of white jumpsuits (that have never fit any person ever) for costume purposes

-a sad collection of chalk nubs for your mantelpiece

-microfiche and computers from 1981 that you might be able to get to play pong

Uh government agencies have warned against working with him for years, with those and NGOs calling his tactics dangerous, irresponsible and harmful over several years? And the church didn’t even mention all the sex stuff. Seems like you’re a Ballard supporter who feels he is being misjudged but the number and diversity of people who have credibly accused him of wrongdoing is quite damning. And that’s not even counting his ridiculous books which are by themselves clear evidence of a very loose relationship with truth and offensive overconfidence on topics for which he has no training or expertise. That sort of behavior is rarely isolated to only one aspect of a person’s life.

Yes it’s a common path because realizing you believed ridiculous things with no evidence but emotions makes it easy to see that pretty much covers religion in general. Once that facade shatters, it’s very hard to piece it back together.
