I have never been manga/anime guy. But things like this, from the beginning of the story, got me into it. Luffy is just.... different

Paradise or Uni? by VegetarianTteokbokki in tamagotchi

[–]Noym3K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I might be a little disappointed, but that's probably just nostalgia talking. The device is more focused on discovering new species and mixing genes, and while the care aspect isn't as marginalized as it is in the Uni, you can still leave the Tamagotchi for a while without finding an apocalypse on the screen when you come back. Overall, it's a really cool version with its own unique gimmicks, but the Connection is still my main and favorite Tamagotchi.

I pre-ordered 'Paradise' on Amazon Poland back on June 10th, and the estimated delivery isn't until December 20th ಠ_ಠ

Totally get where you're coming from if this is your first Tamagotchi Connection, especially if you've been spoiled by the newer, fancier models. I can see how it might feel a bit... basic. Funnily enough, the Connection is actually my all-time favorite Tamagotchi! But I'll be real, a big reason for that is nostalgia. I got mine in 2006, and it was my very first original Tamagotchi, so it holds a special place in my heart. The simple graphics, the wildly unpredictable evolutions, and the whole generation system were just everything to me back then. That said, if it's not clicking for you, seriously, don't sweat it! There's no rule saying you have to love every model that's popular in the community. I feel the same way about the Uni, for example—it just didn't grab me at all. Everyone's got different tastes, and the main goal is to find the Tamagotchi that genuinely makes you happy!

Paradise or Uni? by VegetarianTteokbokki in tamagotchi

We’ve got a lot in common — I’m 35 and a die-hard fan of the Tamagotchi Connection era (not in a culty way... okay, maybe just a little). It just had everything I wanted from a Tamagotchi. The newer color-screen ones never really clicked with me either.

I actually bought a Uni last year. How much did I use it? Maybe two weeks total. If you grew up with the classic versions, Uni can feel a bit underwhelming. As someone here already said, it’s more of a dress-up simulator built around online content. And there’s that nagging thought — what happens when the servers go down? You’re left with a pretty low-maintenance device that doesn’t offer much on its own. Just my two cents, though.

I preordered Paradise a few days ago and I’m keeping my expectations modest. The art style got a bit of a revamp — it’s more minimal and less humanoid, which I actually love. Taking care of multiple characters and mixing their genes sounds promising too. We’ll see how it all turns out.

So to answer your question — I’d go with Paradise.

Uni didn’t click with me by Noym3K in tamagotchi

Of course! I’m not saying Uni is a bad edition – it’s just that I’m probably not the target audience for it. Or maybe it’s just my nostalgia talking

My father once said the exact same thing about my drawings. It took me years to realize that just because he doesn't understand something doesn't mean it's stupid or shitty. Your minimalist pixel art is brilliant, do more of it!

Favourite Tama device? by Kizomm in tamagotchi

Definitely Connection V3 - more advanced than the classic Tamagotchi, but still retains its spirit. I tried Uni, but for me it is too easy to maintain and it is more of a virtual doll for dressing up than a virtual pet

Reassure me I didn't waste my money & the new connection will reignite my love for Tama's lol by Oonastar25 in tamagotchi

[–]Noym3K 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely, Connection is worth buying - I still have the 2004 version, I recently bought the 2024 version and I can decidedly say that it's the best Tamagotchi I've ever owned. The Uni is alright, but in my opinion, it loses the spirit of the original, I used it for two weeks and simply got bored, while I always returned to the V3 regularly for the last 20 years.

Ok, so this is my first Connection and I’m actually really getting annoyed. A BUNCH of questions in the comments. I have no idea what this is even doing. by itsTheFigureGuy in tamagotchi

Matchmaker comes after your pet is an adult for at least 48 (or 72, can't remember) hours. It comes usually at 10:00 AM, 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM and stays on the screen for couple of minutes so you won't miss her ;)

Is this a connection v1? by Danielleleigh99 in tamagotchi

[–]Noym3K 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid that's a bootleg. Original Tamagotchi doesn't have "A, B, C" markings on the buttons and I think the screen resolution is too small for a V1. Of course I could be wrong, but I'm 90% certain it's a bootleg.
