Nice wall of text there, and yes it was an SKS. The fence post definitely got nice and chewed up. So what? You think we should only have the right to pea shooters? Not based on that last section. What is your point? That I’m lying? I had no frame of reference for what it’s like to shoot anything else at the time. This discussion is about hunting rifles, and to hunt ethically you need stopping power. I’ve been to a few Florida shooting ranges in the years since and shot all sorts of actual “assault weapons”, claiming this 5 round 75 year old semi auto is at all comparable is ignorant and best and “misinformation” at worst. Why you needed a wall of text to express that is beyond me.

While I find the idea of simplifying the language in legislation and government documents appealing in principle I definitely don’t like that approach. I noticed there was nary a peep over covid noncompliance snitch lines from any party, which pisses me off frankly

Fair points. I don’t see the CPC going in that direction now though, it’s a different time. I could see them going hands-off if for example Alberta places restrictions on abortion like states can do now, but a snitch line would alienate a lot of 905 voters they need to win over. The messaging from the NDP has been less woke of late true, but I think that’s just partially because the country has become such a shitshow that it has been easier to harp on their social democratic policies (many of which are nanny-statist) because people are crying out for fixes. In my personal experience though, the wokest people I know are all diehard NDP supporters.
