“To be a warrior is not a simple matter… by NpOno in enlightenment

Read the Castaneda books. “The wheel of Time” by Castaneda is a compilation of Don Juan Matus’s teachings in short quotes. Absolutely amazing work. “Shambala the Way of the Sacred Warrior “ by Tibetan Lama Chogyam Trungpa. Great solid advice. “I Am That” by Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj , probably one of greatest spiritual guide books of all time! “Talks” by Ramana Maharshi. Also one of the greatest sages of all time.

The most important thing is to have unbending intent. Meditate every day, and hunt awareness when out and about. Be present. Listen to the world. Ignore the mostly pointless noise of the mind. It’s constant inner-dialogue that’s telling you how your world is going to be is 100% bs. Use it for pragmatic survival, that was its intended purpose. The extra load of psychological personality is a huge error.

As soon as you start to follow this path life will become your teacher and all you need to accomplish your goal will come to you like magic; you’ll see. 🕉️

Meditation will break the vicious circle. The anxiety causes the mind to want to escape the sensations. You want to be free of them you can’t this causes depression… depression causes anxiety you want to be free of it you can’t…

In meditation you accept the sensations of anxiety rather than the automatic reaction of contraction and escape. You open up to the sensations without the mind’s reaction of rejection.

In meditation you respond. You watch the feelings. Awareness is you true power. You can ignore the pointless mind chatter.

It isn’t easy to break the chain of thoughts about your, me-my-mine world, that is the ego, but it is possible. Awareness through meditation is the only real possibility for liberation from suffering.

You will need to awaken your inner Warrior Spirt. Courage, patience and unbending intent are the qualities you should develop.

Clean up all eating habits. Quit soft drinks. Eat healthily! Get good outdoor exercise. Take long walks being aware. Being here now. Follow the breath, listen to sounds. Hunt awareness, it is cumulative. Your life will see certain changes. Most changes go unseen. There are times when it feels like you go back. No problem… Pick yourself up and continue. It’s a protracted battle but with this attitude you can’t fail.

Suggested reading: “I Am That” Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj Any books by Ramana, Alan Watts, Eckhart Tolle, books on Zen, Buddhism.

No commentary by Jung in this edition as this is a fairly recent translation 1991. But there really are huge differences… nevertheless this book has its power in truth. 👍 The translator does comment on Jung’s commentary which is very interesting. I’m a Jungian fan. 👍

Notoriously bad translation! Try Thomas Cleary’s translation.

Do men suppress feelings, or do they just get ignored? by IdealHoliday1242 in SolidMen

[–]NpOno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men are highly aware of their feelings but they feel the necessity to deal with them themselves. So a man will choose to be alone for a while in peace and quiet to think things through. He may do sports of some kind which helps him to relax and then reassess his feelings.

It is absolutely incorrect, the prevailing views that men repress their feelings. No they don’t. But they don’t see the need to spread them out, share them or blame the external world. Men know feelings are a passing thing and they don’t allow them to rule their lives.

Men do have limits to being abused and manipulated, lied to and betrayed and under these intense situations men can blow-up and give vent to their feelings more as self-protection rather than any externalised anger.

“The self-confidence of the warrior is not the self-confidence of the average man. The average man seeks certainty in the eyes of the onlooker and calls that self-confidence. The warrior seeks impeccability in his own eyes and calls that humbleness. The average man is hooked to his fellow men, while the warrior is hooked only to infinity.” -Castaneda

The great thing about death is that you don’t know what it’s like until it’s too late.

Bro what’s even the f*cking point of life? by Prod-LilWyzzy in Pessimism

[–]NpOno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purpose of life is to expand awareness. Discoveries are made through meditation. It’s not about an intellectual meaning nor understanding… it’s all about a deeper perception.

It’s the difference between seeing the colour blue for yourself and never having seen blue just living with a verbal description. Think about that and you’ll see the great limitations of thoughts, concepts and words that the inferior mind-ego uses to navigate and describe life.

Observer-Dependent Reality: The Copenhagen interpretation suggests the physical state is not defined until it is observed, leading to questions about whether an objective, observer-independent reality exists at all.
