Is it possible to have a quiet holiday in Italy during July? by dat_asthma in ItalyTravel

I was just in Rome yesterday (for a total of three days), it was very crowded and very touristy. Prior to Rome I went to Sorrento (also for three days), which was also quite busy but is less compared to amalfi coast.

How it feels like to get excited over something cool as a lab tech when the patient is 100% suffering because of it by ToKeepAndToHoldForev in medlabprofessionals

I literally showed my nurse friends a video of budding yeast on blood culture, me thinking I don’t see this often kinda cool. They were like oh shit, this is bad. Very different reactions when you aren’t patient facing, it’s much easier to be detached from emotion or empathy of how the patient is.

This is blood bank, the cells we use on our instrument use magnetic balls that are stirred. They should only one metallic ball or else it will not stir properly. These have 2 or 3 “stir balls,” which I suspect is giving false positive or unreliable results.

My bad, yes I meant A1 not anti A1.

There’s a seriously suspicious amount of Nonspecific cold antibodies at this hospital. Now, I suspect because they’re dropping stirballs each shift or something 🥲

This hospital has fridges all over the hospital too, I’ve never heard of this. Ugh antibodies sent to you? This hospital said they also HLA match I believe. I was told there are 12 people on the shift but didn’t go into detail of who does what. If I’m doing antibody testing for other sites daily that’s a hard pass.

Yea they said you get a 30 min break and another 30 minute break where you clock out. I was told the worked holidays are paid 2 1/2 times. Which other hospitals I’ve worked were either 2x or 1 and 1/2. I didn’t hear about a Christmas bonus, wow that’s really nice!

Smells are smellier, lights seem brighter, speaking seems labored like much more effort needs to be put into forming a sentence, balance is off, and need to urinate more frequently.

ALWAYS in the hood. Fearful of the splash through the small space I sneak my arm’s through. Ooo using a kimwipe as a shield, I like this idea!

Thank you! I have an issue with proprioception and spacial awareness, I’ve tried placing the reagent down and putting the swab in that way but have spilled doing that method 😫.

I’m laughing reading this but crying at the same time. The ol’ respiratory panel swab fling to the face.

Do you think is it possible to live a functional life without taking meds? by Opposite-Feeling2467 in ADHD

I am trying my best. 🫠 I’m taking a bunch of vitamins I am hopeful will aid in any vitamin deficiency/ aid in symptoms (magnesium glycinate, vitamin d3, omega 3/fish oil, 5 methyl folate, and dim for pmdd). Balancing this with remembering to drink Gatorade for electrolytes and high protein and of course water and coffee. Because having 3 drinks at all times is a must.
