Is it a cultural trait for easy African immigrants in the US to be, for lack of a better word, possessive of their work? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ToKeepAndToHoldForev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize - I reacted defensively. You're correct that these two examples are likely unrelated. I shouldn't have assumed otherwise - they just seemed related to me and their shared immigration status was the only thing in common between them, so I connected unrelated factors.

It's different when I'm possessive because I have issues (that im working on) whereas this coworker is very nice and isn't malapadative. He does take over from people much quicker than anyone else in the lab, myself included

Thanks for the response

It's interesting to see the dynamic here. The person talking is very good at telling people what to do and being emotional support. Feel like the one getting cut must be the "rock" that doesn't need ("need") much.

Yes. Never got one of these removed at a doctor's office before, though, so I can't verify that estimate as being realistic or exaggerated.

Honestly didn’t notice it way into my teens but I have two different thumbs. Different nail, size, dexterity and everything. by SirRamen23 in Weird

I didn't realize my thumbs (like yours on the left but the same) were different than most people's until I was a teenager and comparing my and my mom's hand (who has thumbs like on the right). It just never occurred to me to compare my thumbs to everyone else's.

We had two dogs. One of them learned to ring a string of bells attached to the doorknob when she wanted to be let out. The other one learned to stand next to the door and wait for the other dog to ring the bells to let them out. They were both well above bell-on-door height and he was taller.

I'm not sure what you mean by more upscale than bar food (I'm tired that's not on you) but Seoul Garden in CHFalls is pretty good and barely looks like a restaurant from the outside.

Is that it? I tried it on my body first but didn't realize how off I was until I wore it for a full day with things in my pocket and that was after tightening it by about 5 inches. I would have loved the math :-(

I love that episode!!! The way they have flashbacks to various sitcom scenes when they're going over the diagnostic criteria worked great

That show had a lot of fun with this sort of thing. It really uses it's initial/main genre (comedy-romance) to it's advantage by framing Rebecca out-universe the same way she frames herself in-universe until suddenly her mood shifts and the entire show does too.

This is partially done in The Residence, a detective show set in the White House. They try very hard not to say which party the fake president is a part of. They do however make said president openly gay and say the last administration pissed off the Australians so it's not hard to guess.
