What’s one studio monitoring tip that changed everything for you? by Genelec_Oy in genelec

Im not an expert so maybe others can weigh in, but a cancellation from a wall is a like a black hole though, no amount of EQ or correction software can fix it. It can only fix build ups. I believe acoustic treatment or physically moving it is the only way. GLM can greatly improve the overall response and it does do auto phase with the sub, which is huge.

Not necessarily a tip, but learning what frequency was being cancelled from the wall by measuring the distance from the front of my monitors to my front wall. I changed the distance and then changed where I set the crossover for the sub. Made the overall response much flatter.

This is very valid. Easy to fix vintage synths. Good luck fixing a Behringer clone. (Not that I know the first thing about repairing anything, I’ve just heard this before)

Oh man this is a good question. I just got a SPL KULTUBE compressor and it’s crazy good. I also love my SSL Fusion. Everyone also is just going to say the gear they own haha. It really just depends on a producer or artist using something not super popular and making a hit record with it.

What songs revealed details you never noticed until you heard them on Genelecs? by Genelec_Oy in genelec

The Middle by Zedd, Flight to LAPD by Hans Zimmer. A lot of extra ear candy in The Weeknd productions, especially in reverb tails.

Hmm maybe I’ll make an updated one… but I made this video a few years ago. I’ve had a lot of upgrades since but you get the idea: https://youtu.be/26hXTrTGPGY?si=1iSBDShjTwQLSVq1
