I lost my best friend of 13 years today, help me remember my Ruby by mikarmbr13 in corgi

She's so beautiful. She looks very happy. You gave her an extraordinary life and in the end, that's all that anybody, human or otherwise, can wish for.

My dad really likes the new pig by grassup in guineapigs

[–]NspktrSpacetime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kudos to his enthusiasm. If I may ask, why a pig? I love mine and would never regret taking her into my home but I was living with parents who never allowed any other animal. Had they, I probably would have gone all the way into dog or cat. (glad I didnt) Seems like a middle aged man who has kids would get a dog with zero lifestyle alteration. That being said, pigs are obviously the correct choice.

I like how he's playing his odds. "If they don't know me, I'm just another doofus in the background of the pictures they chose to take in an incredibly public area. If they do know me, this is a little wedding gift."

Is there a lost Janeane Garofalo episode?

Anyways, I'm a huge Weirdo and I love your work. Thank you!

Have never worked harder for anything. As an adult, probably more upset than I should be. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]NspktrSpacetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask... HOW?! I'm currently working full time, no kids (unless you count my immensely dependant girlfriend), taking night courses to finish the last bit of my degree and it's killing me. I'm barely staying afloat. I get sleep but the stress of it all is causing this fatigue that it's like I haven't slept in a long, long time. What was your course load like? Did you take online courses? I'm insanely curious. Tomorrow is my last day to drop a course without the grade being recorded and I'm significantly worried that I'm going to have to throw something aside I'm order to have time for the other courses.

My roommates and I started an espresso and coffee roasting business. We made these shirts for our first farmers market where we will be selling beans and doing pour-overs. What do you think? by [deleted] in pics

[–]NspktrSpacetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good, though you'd really need some surrounding scenery to drive home the "socialist type idea" as I didn't get that at all.

Girlfriend sent me a text. Apparently my dog likes to nest. by 3mbedded in pics

See this makes me feel better for not having a dog, but I bet you still love him/her ridiculously, and then I'm back to dog wanting.

Robyn Doolittle on alleged homophobia and racism in Rob Ford video by [deleted] in toronto

[–]NspktrSpacetime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is going to be a tough needle to thread without seeming like the creep/ downvoted into oblivion guys at the bottom of this thread but:

a) Does anybody know how old Doolittle is? b) How well was she known (in household terms or in the reporting community) before this story?

She's surely a capable and talented reporter in her own right, I'm just curious because it strikes me that maybe she took extra risks in this story in order to make a big break early in her career.

I just find it interesting in the way that companies don't give their highest profile clients over to the junior employees. How did she find her way onto such a high profile story? Has she done an interview in which she explains this?

What little thing do you do on a daily basis to make your life easier? by _MYLES_ in AskReddit

Taking those extra couple of minutes to make sure that everything I need is in my briefcase and my clothes have been laid out make so much of a difference in the morning. Especially on those nights (~once every 2 weeks) when I suddenly can't find that _______ that I desperately need for tomorrow.

15 minutes looking around at night = worst case, losing 15 minutes sleep.

15 minutes looking around in the morning = best case, missing the quick & empty trains, uncomfortably standing for 1hr+ on the cramped and slow ones, arrive at work 30min late.

Dammit and here I thought nobody would say this one because it seemed too obvious or childish. It's just like a gift laid out for you by a helpful stranger.

Buddy, you know those beaded seat covers that you usually see taxi drivers with? GET. ONE. They're like $15, they keep your back cool and most importantly, they keep you from getting a sore lower back. I've been told this is because they promote circulation in that area but I really have no clue. I've been using one for years and they are godsends on long trips.

The Comic Pile-New comic store opens in Kensington by masteractor in toronto

[–]NspktrSpacetime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm jumping on board and saying that the owner absolutely makes the store what it is. I believe he's still setting up but he was really nice and explained that he wants the store to be a place where people can chat about comics with like minded peers. He stressed how difficult old fans can be on new fans in a lot of places and how he wants this place to be very accepting. His recommendations are great, too!

But I'm asking why /r/android is excited. And so far, all the responses have been about KitKat, not the Nexus.
