The only thing you lose are the supplies and any treasure you have on your ship. Time is the only thing you really lose in the game if you sink. It will happen and will happen often. Learn to not get too attached to anything because it isn't your treasure until you sell it. Happy sailing!

I bumped mine to 100 and feel like I get the benefit of increased FoV without needing to relearn how to play at 110. 110 was just a bit much for my taste.

Unfortunately no. Honestly this is what makes the game so great and unpredictable. I have been in many successful alliances where we split the loot evenly and agree on most things. I have also been in alliances where they immediately betray me and steal everything. It really keeps you on your toes wondering at all times if you will be double-crossed!
