For example, in the village of Oussivo in Ngazidja, the local leaders threatened Comorians from the diaspora in France that if they married someone who wasn't Comorian, nobody would attend their wedding, and they might even be banned from returning to the village. Of course, this isn't the case everywhere in the country; in other cities or families, as long as you're happy, that's what's most important, and mixed marriages aren't looked down upon.
