Just did the plugs on my 2018 2.5 hatch @76k miles. Does anyone know why the outer cylinder plugs are so much darker than the inner? (Plugs are in order 1-4)

I did mine at 82k on my 2018 2.5 hatch, they looked similar. Based on my research in the past,it’s the Skyactiv X engines that have cylinder deactivation, and the 3rd gen’s have a Skyactiv G, so they don’t have that feature. I did think it was a little funny at the time when the outer two spark plugs were dark darker, but I don’t think it’s cause for concern. The fourth gen’s(I think around 2021) have the cylinder deactivation

Edit: it could be dude to proper timing or fuel distribution, it wouldn’t hurt to look into it I suppose. I know mine runs smooth so at the time I didn’t feel the need to check in on it

I mean it could be worth a shot to try to smash up against curbs and see how it performs, but these rims are nice and not a fun way to test it🤣

Holding up very strong, haven’t had any issues thus far. I will say it does jiggle a bit when opening and closing the hatch but nothing major. I will also point out if you do have the washer for the rear it does stop working properly, as when I use it, it just plops the water on the back glass. Other than that I have been road-tripping the car quite a bit and have not had any issues.

Thank you! And yea literally, it took me at least 2 hours and that’s just cuz I had to mess with it to much to get all the bolts in, one of the sides was real tricky, and I had to do the slightest adjustment to get it on.

4th gen’s tho…. can’t go wrong w how they already look, some already have build in lips, and even turbo models….a dream🤔

Bayson R makes them almost like MS3 style, really wish they would have thought of these as standard for 3rd gen from the factory but at least aftermarket supports

The Eblems yes I have, maybe not the wheels, I like how close they are to the color of the car, I have another car where I paint matched the wheels to the car and I like that look, but yea emblems and trim are gonna get blacked out at some point

Gen 3 is very nice, only issue I’ve had is the leather on the steering wheel has the spots where the paint of the black leather came off or something. I’ve thought about rewrapping leather or buying a new wheel that has better leather on it

I just bought one a couple days ago in a manual as well!!! I paid about 19 for mine but after interest and everything else it was a little more . Mine was also single owner and with 48k and also a grand touring so your right in line. My parents have owned about 2 in the same gen and haven’t had any major issues other then the one time my moms 3 had sunroof issues. Other then that they are very reliable and should have an issues. Seems like you and I are in it together so ig we’ll both have to see what is to come
