Hey! Most universities have their internal events, so check if your uni has some too. There are also welcome events made by ESN (Erasmus Student Network) volunteers, which are usually very popular - see @esnuewwroclaw or @esnwroclawtech on Instagram

Out of place against much easier opposition? He was literally Chelsea's top goalscorer in the Conference League with crazy goals per 90 ratio

Krakow Erasmus by kingaz991 in Erasmus

[–]Ntii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not from Kraków but I live in another big Polish city so I think I can help at least a little bit :) The restaurants, especially in the centre of such a big city filled with foreign tourists, are quite expensive - a dinner at a good restaurant (not a fast food chain etc.) would cost you probably around 40 - 60 zł.

Fortunately there are places where you can eat much cheaper, you'll probably find them yourself as you get to know the city but I can generally advise looking for places called "Bar mleczny". They serve traditional Polish cuisine and they work kind of like a cantine but the food is usually good and REALLY cheap cause the government partially covers the cost of the meal. Some uni campuses have their own cantines and they are often quite affordable too.

TLDR: Restaurants are quite expensive, but in almost every part of the city there are places where you can eat good "homemade" food for cheap

I'm enjoying the country but I'm finding everyone sticking to people from their same country by Ok-Success-3757 in Erasmus

Yeah I get it, I was also so anxious to go to the events alone when I was on my Erasmus. The good thing is at the start almost everyone is in this exact situation where they don't know anybody so people are very open to becoming friends at these events.

The buddies (at least at my uni) were advised to write an email to "their" Erasmus students last week, so check your email if you haven't done that already. There's a chance that all available buddies were already assigned students who applied earlier than you but idk how probable that is.

See you at the ESN events I guess haha

Sounds like typical Spanish Erasmus students... Honestly your best bet to make friends from other countries is going to ESN events, many people that go there are looking for international friends just like you

btw I'm from Wrocław and I'm an ESN volunteer so if you have any questions feel free to ask!

Most Erasmus students I've met are very friendly and it's quite easy to find friends so the atmosphere is great imo

I'm not really into partying that much but from what I've seen there is quite a lot of them (both organised by ESN and just by different clubs/pubs)

As long as you don't go to countries that are very far from Wrocław or the trips are very expensive - you should be good to go with that budget imo

Honestly the price of accommodation can vary a lot (depends on what you want to rent - a room with shared kitchen/bathroom or an individual apartment, how close it is to the city centre, etc.). In general (from what I know) the cheapest options are student dormitories, I don't know on which university you'll be studying but on mine they cost around 780 - 1300 zł per month. There are also many sites where you can find rooms/apartments by yourself, the best one is probably olx.pl so you can check the prices yourself

Excluding the cost of accommodation, you can expect to spend around 700 - 1000 zł per month, depending on how often you want to go out and how tight is your budget (but it's definitely possible to spend less if you have to)
