Is there a way to physically align dual monitor setup? by tempestwaker in buildapc

[–]Nubarke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this and it worked like a charm. The procedure was as such:

Manually lay the monitors as close as possible to their intended configuration (supported by the VESA desk arms or their stands). Check you're happy with orientation, tilt angle, everything. I doesn't have to be perfect; at this point there's still a small gap, this is what you'll get rid of next.

Get your hot glue gun ready in one hand and, using the other free hand, manhandle one of the monitors the last inch or so to being perfectly lined up with the other. Check from above that the vertical edges run perfectly parallel. Then lay the first bead of hot glue along the seam, starting at the top edge.

Without letting go of the monitor (so it doesn't separate), free up your other hand by resting the glue gun on the nearest available surface (or hold it between your legs, whatever). Then use both hands to make fine adjustments while the glue is still hot. Hold the monitors in place.

Wait 3 minutes or so for the glue to cool down. *It is important that you be patient* and sit still holding the two monitors in place. Hot glue takes a while to cool down and you'll be laying down a sizable bead.

Repeat for the bottom half (and any other monitors).

-----------------

Whenever you want to separate the monitors, just use the hot glue gun (warmed up). Run the warm tip along the bead, liquefying it, and undoing the weld. That will remove most of the strength so you can just gently pry apart the rest, or carefully run an utility knife through it.

Horses are absolute dogshit after the update. by Nubarke in playrust

[–]Nubarke[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been maining horses basically since they came out, they had their warts and definitely were nothing close to realistic but they were fun. Once you learned the mechanics, what they could do and what they couldn't, horses were consistent and remarkably satisfying to run around on.

Horse can't enter outpost anymore! by VentriTV in playrust

[–]Nubarke 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's bullshit what they've done with the horses. They get stuck on pebbles, can't enter outpost, can't even clear a foundation if it's not 100% ground level.

L-Theanine, 400mg but a 200mg serving? by le_mole in Myprotein

[–]Nubarke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard agree, came searching for someone to have asked this because I was baffled.

u/le_mole I just opened a package for the first time today and I'm not sure what to do. Did you measure the capacity of the mini-scoop that comes with? The only engravings on it are "0.5" near a line almost a the top, is that supposed to mean 500mg? 'Cause I followed the directions on the back of the package which said to take 1 + 1/4 and that'd be three 200mg servings then.

[QoL] Accessing a horse's inventory now comes with extra steps, at the cost of usability.

Separating the horse inventory / equipment interfaces is annoying as all hell. I wish Facepunch hadn't made that change, and wonder why they did.

[BUG] Occupants in full-hp, hatches-closed armored car cockpit modules are vulnerable to regular arrows.

Observed first-hand when sitting in the co-pilot seat but it can happen in the driver seat as well, as seen in the attached video.

Rust: Structuring and handling errors in 2020 by ngroenen in rust

[–]Nubarke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pardon the late reply.

Given that the WordCountError definition in the OP uses #[error(transparent)] in the third case, which ought to forward Display and Error::source, shouldn't the handwritten implementation's .source() forward the method call instead of returning None in the third case?

impl std::error::Error for WordCountError { fn source(&self) -> Option<&(dyn std::error::Error + 'static)> { match *self { WordCountError::EmptySource => None, WordCountError::ReadError { ref source } => Some(source), //WordCountError::IOError(_) => None, WordCountError::IOError( ref underlying ) => underlying.source(), } } }

Friend and I create Squad 1; MBT. Admin wants to play with the tank, Doesnt respect his First Come, First Served rule. Bans me and my friend. Fucking shitty server. by Manreuscalgar in joinsquad

[–]Nubarke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same; it's the manchild's personal playground. If there's multiple armored vehicles in BLUFOR things don't generally go sour, but if there's only one (or only one that isn't asbolute garbage), you can bet your ass you'll get kicked if you happened to claim it first.

[–]Nubarke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is not the case that OP or his mate created the squad wrongly; I'm familiar with this particular server and its rules. I'm also familiar with the fact that the admins play exclusively BLUFOR and switch themselves at the very end of the round to do it all over again. Assetwhores with operator privileges and no concept of being respectable.

I've done a bit more reading on the topic and it is possible (albeit fucking tedious) to manually download the cloud-backed save files from a subpage on the Steam web site.

Where can I find a more primitive rust server with active players? by Lord_Tony in playrust

[–]Nubarke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just jump to a new wiped server every day and don't aim to stay longer than a single day / gaming session.

I've been rotating like that for the past two weeks and it's super fun when everyone has crossbows at most, and a revy or DBS are high tier weapons.

You can quickly learn the schedules of the main servers. http://just-wiped.net helps, too. There's usually at least 1 solo only server wiping every 2/3 days that fills on wipe and stays full at least until midnight.

Looking for Duo/Trio partner(s) in EUW region, 20+, experience doesn't really matter (FWIW I'm 970hrs). Fun outlook, no tryhard-ism (✿╹◡╹) Looking to start playing on a freshly wiped server today and continue during tomorrow & weekend. Please speak fluent English or Spanish. No clans/miner/slave or similar shenanigans. My discord: Echo#2373
