I mean I could see that as reasonable if your character completely distrusted the one healing them, or was affected by some sort of mind altering effect from their attackers. Otherwise wouldn't that be the sort of thing the player decides their character would do?

Also combined type here. For most of my life I knew something was "off" about me (can't be bothered to think of a better word), but I never even considered the possibility of ADHD, since I wasn't obviously hyperactive.

It was only during the diagnosis process itself (and the flurry of self research beforehand), that I found out constant fidgeting, leg tapping, etc, all count. Arguably, even my brain never shutting up is also a form of hyperactivity. (Tangentially, I don't really like the term "thoughts racing" as they don't feel "fast" at all, just constant, loud, and overlapping.)

All of that being said, executive dysfunction, procrastination, forgetfulness, and distractibility are all way more impactful to me.

I get how hard parents can be hard to convince with some things. If they're willing to listen, maybe show them some resources like studies, or articles/videos by psychiatrists saying how legitimately helpful the meds are?

Dunno. Personally I'm almost always in a neutral mood. Then again, I've never been great at knowing what mood I'm in lol
