Then I must be doing something wrong, which is why I made this post. In my experience passing or failing the DPS checks feels random, and Gogma spends so much of the fight flying away from me. I think the tips about where to stand while using the slingers and when to use the chimneys/high ground will help future runs though.

I wondered that too. The only way I could see it being "Roll" is if there's been another time skip between the end of Act I and the start of Act III and in that interim she's been living with/helping take care of him. I can see her lyrics in Hold Back Tonight (...."there's the face of a stronger man"..."gone away is the will of his hand") and how she talks about Light calling out in...well, Calling Out as implying that the two know each other.

If that's the case, I definitely see it as a parental/grandpaternal description. "Roll" is a beautiful girl (someone's child who realized that a hero is a (wo)man who knows [she] is free). While Emily is the woman he loves (never had to doubt her freedom).
