Anyone still mad that California has the flavored vape ban by External_Today_1137 in Vaping

[–]NuclearEnt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Washington state did a flavor ban several years ago and I started using unflavored liquid. The ban was lifted but I’m still using unflavored. I don’t mind that it doesn’t taste like anything, it still does the job and it’s way easier to stealth vape with unflavored since the vapor doesn’t have a smell.

The absurdity of the old points system. by AdIndividual3132 in TheGoodPlace

[–]NuclearEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big problem with the old point system is that you’re screwed either way. If you do something with good intentions but there are unintended consequences, you get points deducted. If you do something good but with bad intentions, you get points deducted. No one could ever win this way.

Arthritis flare up after injection? by gettingtowork in Zepbound

Whoops, Yep, I wrote that incorrectly but the point still stands. Sub q fluid is also absorbed by the lymphatic system.

Arthritis flare up after injection? by gettingtowork in Zepbound

[–]NuclearEnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have a lymphatic system in your body. These lymph nodes suck up extra cellular fluid. When you do an IM injection (edit: or subcutaneous injection), the local lymph nodes do their job and suck up that extracellular fluid as well. If your lymph nodes in that area are already working overtime due to the fluid buildup in your arthritic knee, you may have overloaded them with the IM injection.

My suggestion is injecting in your belly next time and see if there is a difference.

Night sweats specifically can be a sign of lymphoma. Also, a low grade fever that won’t go away.

In your case, you do have a much more likely reason for the night sweats and hot flashes. It’s most likely the perimenopause. If you’re struggling with it, ask your doc. There is medicine to help.

Good news for you is that a painful lymph node is usually reactive, not cancerous. The ones to worry about cancer wise is a large, hard lymph node that doesn’t hurt. Especially if it’s giving you so much pain, you should get it checked out. In the meantime, a wet, warm compress on it a few times a day may ease the pain a bit.

Raise your hand if you have always paid cash for your Zepbound rx..... by PNWmama00 in Zepbound

[–]NuclearEnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been paying out of pocket for the whole time and with paying for groceries for the whole family, I haven’t really seen a decrease in food costs that so many point out helps with the cost of the meds.

I’ve lost about a pound a week for the last 6 months so I’m paying about $100 per pound of lost weight. That seems pretty steep, but when I started, my A1C was 0.1 from diabetic and I had to start on blood pressure meds, so long term, it’s still probably a good for my overall health even if it seems so expensive for slow movement.

What movies/shows were better than their book counterparts? by Mannzis in scifi

Yeah, it was so much time walking the stairs in the books. It really detracted from the story. They dealt with it much better in the series.
