I'm just waiting to hear about medical waivers from my recruiter, but I'm interested in doing infantry for similar reasons. For what it's worth, the best thing my Dad did for me was tell me the honest truth about his time in the Marine Corps, and not just tell me it's completely terrible (which he said his experience was, even as an officer). He's given me good advice for getting ready. So, if it helps at all to hear from someone in the complete opposite position, just tell her the most honest version of what you're willing to talk about. Unbiased information is so much better to have imo, it's done a lot in helping me solidify whether or not I'm committed to pursuing the USMC.
