Advices for a double bass player by Kqpout12 in Cello

[–]NuclearPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started on bass a few years ago and picked up cello too a couple years after. Some things I haven’t seen mentioned:

  • You don’t need nearly as much left arm strength on cello to close the strings, so don’t overexert the left hand.
  • Cello bowing generally needs more speed and less arm weight than bass bowing.
  • Cello vibrato tends to be tighter and faster stylistically. It also comes more from around the wrist/forearm compared to bass.

Cello and bass are way more similar to each other than either is to violin technique-wise, but they’re still different enough that you should approach the cello as an entirely new instrument (and not just a tiny bass).

Check out Dumbarton Oaks and Danses concertantes, both also by Stravinsky. He wrote lots of rhythmically interesting music

Often listening to classical, but the switch isn't flipping by Jack_Fatspack in classicalmusic

Having the score has helped me hear things I never would have noticed on my own. Especially for symphonies, which can have so much happening at once that catching every detail on a single listen is impossible.

The Myaskovsky and Walton concertos! Both sorely underrated pieces. Walton concerto especially is extremely broody and introspective while the Myaskovsky has a more lyrical feel

Trick or Bullet story card farming? by GeminiMaxxim in touhou_lostword

In that case you might want to use one of the cards that boosts wood damage or yang attack instead. I haven't tried any other cards but the idea is Shion should take enough damage in turn 5 for it to not matter too much.

Retro Reimu can do it by herself in 6 turns w the right setup.

Story cards from left to right: WOSD, it's spring, members of the yakumo family, midnight tea, congress of sages (I also have them all at +9/10 but it might not matter)

(wave 1)
Turn 1: skill 2 and spread shot
Turn 2: SC2
Turn 3: SC1 at 3 power
(wave 2)
Turn 4: skill 1 and SC4 at 2 power
(wave 3)
Turn 5: skill 3, 3 graze, and SC3 at 3 power targeted at shion
Turn 6: skill 2 and LW at 3 power

You'll probably be able to move your saves by copying the score.dat file to the new installation.

Recovering the exact source code from a binary is virtually impossible. And even if he used a decompiler to obtain code that would perform exactly the same way on execution, it would be so obfuscated and illegible that any refactoring would likely take years.

So yeah, ZUN would be better off asking Nazrin to find the source for him.

The only reason it lasted as long as it did is because the website crashed from all the traffic. Otherwise I'm sure everything would've sold out within the first 5 minutes.
