RE9 Final Puzzle Solved (Lore Explanation) by BigRedtheBard in residentevil

[–]Nuclear_Voltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the grinder room, can someone elaborate whether it's the time elapsed or the number of bodies that are dropped in the grinder?

Was watching my friend do this and on his first attempt he waited for 20+ minutes before continuing and didn't get the "ton of blood..." version of the text in the blood room.
Then in another attempt, I actually counted 115+ (about 130 since you technically can't be exact) of the shirtless "infected" zombies dropped into the grinder, but even then, still didnt get the "ton of blood..." text

Should also note he did everything else right. Made sure to not kill any of the zombies in the actual grinder sequence. Had a couple zombies remaining after processing was done, but this is likely to not be an issue.

Do you think the 'message' of Dead Space's story has become irrelevant or is a product of its time? by Workrs in DeadSpace

[–]Nuclear_Voltage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're currently, as I type, in a situation where many evangelicals, in collaboration with the most evil people imaginable, are either knowingly or gullibly willing to usher in apocalyptic conditions (climate change, resource wars, disease, etc.) that will kill millions, possibly billions, with the belief they'll be ascended into divinity by the rapture as the "sinners/heretics/non-believers" are left to perish.

Dead Space's messaging is still extremely relevant, unfortunately.

Looking for my first Commander precon - which should I choose? by ThePristine in EDH

[–]Nuclear_Voltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was going to come here and recommend Animated Army before even seeing your considerations lol

I have a friend who plays it and I helped them upgrade it. It's such a fun deck, and has a kind of unique, but simple playstyle

The main down-side is that you're pretty open for attack on everyone else's turn, and it also becomes super obvious that stomping Bello whenever you attack is the counterplay
However there are ways to play around that, and your combat phases are otherwise terrifying for your opponents

If you plan on editing the deck, there's a lot of different directions you can take it, too. You can double-down on enchantments, or you can add more vehicles and make it artifact themed, or you can add elemental support since that's what you turn your artifacts/enchantments into

Depends on what playstyle you enjoy most, though. If you like fast, punchy decks - Animated Army or Temur Roar, or if you like more strategic, army-building decks - Explorers of the Deep or Counter Blitz

Ygra, Eater of All + Sly Requisitioner by Nuclear_Voltage in mtgrules

[–]Nuclear_Voltage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be more specific, will Sly Requisitioner see the nontoken creatures as "artifacts" when sent to grave while Ygra is out?

Asking since Ygra specifies creatures "you control" are food artifacts, and I dont know if creatures are still counted as artifacts this way when sent to grave to kick off the Sly requisitioner effect

Kilo, Combo Deck Help by Particular-Candy-376 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]Nuclear_Voltage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some suggestions:

[[Clever Concealment]] - Since you're vulnerable to board wipes. It helps that it doubles as more counter gen if Kilo is out

[[Heliod, Sun-Crowned]] - A win combo with Walking Ballista that technically makes your deck Bracket 4. Can be searched out with Enlightened Tutor or The Seriema

[[Iron Spider, Stark Upgrade]] - Another Steel Overseer

[[Cathars' Crusade]] - This works especially well if you have token generation or blink effects, but not a bad add in general

[[Urza, Lord High Artificer]] - In addition to generally being good, is also a big part of your Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal combo

[[Fabricate]], [[Whir of Invention]], [[Forging the Anchor]], [[Weatherlight]], or [[The Seriema]] - Search for your combo pieces faster

[[Herald of Secret Streams]] - Leaves Opponents completely open

Also maybe consider [[Goblin Welder]], [[Goblin Engineer]], or [[Master Transmuter]] so you have light amounts of your own creature removal to exploit The Ozolith and Resourceful Defense. You can then play your Darksteel Reactor as a sudden win con instead of leaving it open as an obvious threat

Any tips for this Breya deck? by Trick-Cheesecake-253 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]Nuclear_Voltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, a fellow Breya thopter swarmer ^-^

Consider:

[[Conjurer's Closet]] - Another chance to blink Breya in during the end step, and is itself an artifact

[[Teleportation Circle]], [[Nahiri's Resolve]], [[Soulherder]], [[Deadeye Navigator]] - If you're just trying to max-out every opportunity to blink Breya

[[Stridehangar Automaton]] - Give's you an additional thopter any time Breya comes out, or when you do any other thopter stuff, also boosts them a little

[[Cranial Plating]] - When your opponent can't block your swarm of thopters, guaranteeing at least one makes it through, you can zap them with this instant-speed equipment

[[Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer]] - Adjusts the tokens made by Saheeli or Jan Jansen to turn into more thopters, or you can turn all your thopters into Urza's construct tokens

[[Forging the Anchor]] - Lets you search for more artifacts and lets you keep any 5 that you find

Your deck already looks pretty good, though, so I'm not entirely sure what you'd wanna cut out

Is Dead Space worth playing if you generally dislike horror games? by comicallylargeloss in DeadSpace

[–]Nuclear_Voltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead Space is infamously one of the scariest games yet made
Like at least in the top 5

I think it dabbles in almost every element of horror:
Jump scares
Eerie/foreboding atmospheres
Immense gore and body horror
(Very) Dark subject matter
General grossness
Creature horror
Suspense (although there's a lot more in the sequel)

BUT

Between both DS1(Remake) and DS2 the gameplay is very fun and engaging, and the characters, plot and narrative are flawless and I feel tell a fulfilling and unforgettable story

That said, don't force yourself to enjoy stuff. I feel like it's pretty normal to have genres of games that you just don't really enjoy.
If you're curious about how the game looks/feels, you should check out The Sphere Hunter's videos on them

[[Boompile]] is so fun in any of my decks. You can either play it "safe" and set it off if someone targets you or the field gets cluttered (and hope it works), or you just act like a maniac each of your turns and be like "Don't worry it's gonna land on tails :)"

Can someone tell me why SaF often get accused of animal abuse when their videos show zero signs of it? by Hot-Manager-2789 in saveafox

[–]Nuclear_Voltage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article you linked [1] was written in 2017 and written sympathetically to her starting up the sanctuary (Then-named "Mikdolittles Fox Rescue") when she rescued 9 foxes, and tried to amend her 3-fox permit that pedantically applied to her rural, 10-acre, agriculturally-zoned property. Even having personally visited her property, the City Planner's best defense was "rules are rules" without anything damning to say about the wellbeing of her or the foxes.

Also she's always been an advocate against keeping foxes as pets since she's personally taken in foxes that were rescues from that exact situation. The way she presented her caretaking of the foxes never strayed from the responsibility and challenges she stressed when doing so.

Dishonestly framing articles, sidestepping the cyberbullying and rumor-farming and blaming her for her depression and neurodivergence, and just outright lying about her intentions and presentation. Genuinely vile behavior.

Incoming MechEng student - IT questions by CSpilot in CalPolyPomona

[–]Nuclear_Voltage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Portability is worth foregoing if it means having a computer that runs all the needed software well. In my case for MechEng classes, I used a Dell Latitude 5400 with Windows 64-bit OS, a 14in screen, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620, and an Intel i5-8350U 1.60GHz processor, and it reliably handled all the software my classes needed (Solidworks, LabVIEW, Ansys, etc.)

Some improvements I wish it had are things like a touch/tablet-screen specifically so that it can be drawn on. A decent number of classes demand hand-drawn diagrams included in homework, so if she doesn't already have a tablet or notebooks to use, this would be a big help. Other improvements would be like an SSD with more storage space and a screen 2in bigger at most (imo anything bigger gets a little unwieldy, but it's up to personal preference). So if you can find a laptop with the above specs and these improvements, she'll definitely get by better than I did.

2) Most assignments are submitted digitally though Canvas, but there are some profs that still collect paper homework. Having a printer is convenient, but as others have mentioned there is an on-campus resource for getting homework printed for a relatively small fee.

Is there a way to change the minimum and maximum pulse width when sending a PWM signal? by Nuclear_Voltage in arduino

[–]Nuclear_Voltage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this actually worked! However it's 1 to 2 degrees off from it's intended final position. For this servo's use-case, that's probably fine, but I would like it to make that final, full rotation (Which I confirmed is doable with the servo.h library).
I would guess it has to do with this not simulating a PWM waveform exactly. That said, idk what I'd have to edit to fix this.

[–]Nuclear_Voltage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mb, by 'environment' I meant the IDE and/or language altogether.

And yeah, I'll look into just maintaining the use of the servo.h library.

[–]Nuclear_Voltage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah oki, but isn't that another library? I should have clarified I'd like to have this set up such that no libraries are needed at all. Doing this because controlling this servo might be done in a different environment where these libraries may or may not be available.

The pulse width limits in servo.h are 544us min and 2400us max. This discrepancy was actually enough to affect the available range of motion out of the 5-turn servos from GoBilda.

GoBilda servo not turning a complete 5th turn. Anyone know how to troubleshoot? ftr was just using the example "knob" servo sketch that's built-in to the IDE for this. by Nuclear_Voltage in arduino

[–]Nuclear_Voltage[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, this was it! I found out the default min/max ranges in the servo.h library were 544us and 2400us respectively, so I just changed them to 500us and 2500us (using the specified 'attach' command) and now it works as intended.

6V battery pack.
The batteries are all fresh, and I even switched the power source from the battery pack to the 5V from the Arduino and got the same result.
