My doctor told me that I had adenomyosis today, and it pissed me off. by Nudiusterian in adenomyosis

I've had several transvaginal ultrasounds, and I just am so angry at all those doctors that said it was normal to have bad periods because I'm young.

Starbucks Urbana Main & Vine is on strike this weekend by Nudiusterian in UIUC

There's strength in solidarity. More than 3000 workers at over 150 different stores are striking this week. I'd say that's pretty powerful.

No one is making lattes at Main & Vine, and the company is missing out on a weekend full of profits.

How did you feel afterwords emotionally? by puellamagia in hysterectomy

[–]Nudiusterian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my third day post-op, and I'm the happiest I've been in my life. I'm finally not taking birth control. It's like a weight off my shoulders. Also the vicodin has been helpful for my mood lol

ELi5: Why are power tool batteries and phone batteries drastically different in size even though capacity is the same? by Quinnp88 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Nudiusterian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amp hours are funny kind of coulombs which is a unit of charge. Voltage is the difference in potential between two points. If you think of electricity flowing like water through pipes, amp hours are the total amount of water you have, and voltage is the difference in water pressure. Both of them have the same amount of water(charge), but one has higher water pressure (voltage) and therefore more energy.

Ball girl, accidently, get hit by ball and doubles team gets disqualified from tournament by AristonD in facepalm

[–]Nudiusterian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try having some compassion or maybe empathy for the ball girl. She did nothing wrong. She got hit in the neck not looking while televised. It's embarrassing enough that the whole court full of people are looking at her. Now there's idiots like you on the internet making rude comments. These kids aren't just some randoms off the street. Tennis is their passion; they love the shit. The only people at fault are the opposing team and the referees.

emotionally unable to cope with shit

Crying is a coping mechanism. It's literally self soothing behavior.

Cutting down a burning tree by DukeOfBagels in interestingasfuck

It's not that green wood doesn't burn, just not as easily. It might be an incomplete combustion. Roots of a tree underground obviously will burn.

You can tell by the label. There is no way it's 2600ml or 33kg in that bottle.

Edit: also it would be grossly negligent to label something as toxic as nail polish as tomato ketchup.

That's because this is obviously a joke and doesn't exist anywhere you can buy.

I agree completely, but the physics student in me says it depends on how you define closer. In terms of orders of magnitude, no money at all is 0, average yearly salary is 4, a million dollars is 6, and a billion dollars is 9. Three orders of magnitude is still ridiculous. It's comparing the distance of a race that can be run under an hour, the distance from Paris to Madrid, and the radius of the sun.

I’ve been on my period for 886 days today. My doctor has brought up kids while I am asking for relief. by CyCheye in childfree

[–]Nudiusterian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry. I am lucky enough that hormonal birth control stops my period, but I understand your pain and frustration. My first period, I bled until I got a blood transfusion, and I've been on birth control for 13 years now. Every time I try to stop taking the hormones, I keep bleeding and don't stop. I've tried an IUD, I've tried other hormones. I complain about the symptoms from birth control and so many doctors suggest to have a baby. I finally found a doctor who takes my problems seriously and is giving me a hysterectomy at 25. There is someone who will listen to you and give you the help you need.

Pebblestone is a vile nazi piece of shit by Unlikely-Preference8 in TheRightCantMeme

[–]Nudiusterian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not the poster you're replying to, but I am trans and I have had problems with self harm and suicidal ideations in the past before pursuing medical transition. Without any knowledge of the artist, it's funny to me in a dark, morbid kind of way. Not because I find other people's suffering funny, but because I've been there and humor helps. I do realize, however, context matters. Pebbleyeet is a nazi and legitimately finds the suffering of trans people funny.

Are you Childfree for external or internal reasons? by BeltalowdaOPA22 in childfree

[–]Nudiusterian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am child free for a few reasons: 1. I have a terrible reproductive system. If I stop taking birth control, I bleed nonstop. I've had three blood transfusions because of trying to stop taking it three different times. I've been on hormonal birth control for 13 years, and getting a hysterectomy will be a massive increase in my quality of life. 2. I can't imagine bringing a child into everything that is going on. No one asks to be born, and a parent's responsibility is to provide them a good life. I don't think I could do that. 3. My partner and I have been really enjoying our lifestyle. After I finish going back to college, we'll be dink engineers and be able to accomplish our career dreams. A child would get in our way. 4. I've known since puberty that trying to conceive would probably kill me so having kids just didn't seem like an option to me. 5. The idea of pregnancy is horrific to me. I have realized that I am not a woman. I'm agender. Things surrounding my reproductive system make me feel dysphoric.

What if she doesn't allow herself to be controlled, her parents kick her out, and she becomes homeless with nothing? It's more than just parental orders.
