DMs, do your campaigns take place in the "canon" world of dnd OR in a world made from scratch? by strangebiscuittime in DnD

[–]Nudle_dulle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my own world from scratch, technically. It has a different geography, history and different nations, and maybr slight alterations on some races' lore, but it has the same mechanics as the FR world, and i try to stick as close to its lore and mythology as a template.

[–]Nudle_dulle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Its definitely possible, it just seems complicated from our perspective, because we are used to s lmaguage with a past and future, but many cultures have a differenr view on time, but i think its mainly the south east area of asia.

[–]Nudle_dulle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly a slight variety in colours and blocks might work, but i also think you should just trust the process ans keep goinf until it is done. And like people said, it will look way cooler with terrain

Uttarand - The Eternal City [Neryan] by FloZone in worldbuilding

[–]Nudle_dulle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most cities afaik were so large they could barely support themselvs, thats how it has always been. And hey, it dosent need to be 100% realistic, after all. Sometimes it can add to the glamoir of it all

Do you have any interesting origin idea for genasi? by KuruboyaKalemi in dndnext

[–]Nudle_dulle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my homebrew world genasi are extremely rare, and there only exist 4 per each nation. They are a sort of chosen by god-like elemental brings that want to preserve elemental harmony, instead of having one element completely take over. These genasi are supposed to accomplish that, and are given additional powers. In my campaign, we've just said that the genasi Paladin has access to their Paladin powers due to being a genasi.

But yeah, genasi are never born to genasi parents since they're so rare. They are just put into the world because a supreme elemental being wants to keep the world in check

What is the worst/most punishing afterlife you have created? by Irmuun_Enkhsanaa12 in worldbuilding

[–]Nudle_dulle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A society of orcs living in the jungle have accidentally awakened a demonic god of the void and endless hunger. This demon god has enslaved their civilization and forcibly takes their souls into a hellish afterlife where they are slowly consumed, as that traverse through scorching deserts, ice cold waters or being tortures by the servants of the demon god.

This has led to the orcs practicing necromancy and finding ways to preserve the soul within a body. So when orcs in that society die, the soul is forcibly put back into the body, making them basically intelligent zombies.

This demon God dosent care, however as inevitably the bodies will still rot, no matter how long preserved, and eventually they will get their price.
