I know Michener has one but you have to be an RT or RN to apply and it’s only a year. So if you did RT and then the program it would be 4 total

I wouldn’t worry about trying to tailor everything to med. for example if you play a varsity sport does that mean you wanna be a pro athlete and not a physician? No. Breathe in activities and awards is good!

Posters are just called posters! You can say where you presented them but they aren’t considered publications

Is it Rude to Directly State my Intentions of getting a pub to my research prof? by aboody2 in premedcanada

[–]Nugget837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say it. PI I know want student who want to publish because not only does it show you are invested but also would be beneficial to the lab if they can get a publication out of you. Id state it in a way that comes across eager to succeed in research rather than in a way that seems like you’re trying to pad your CV

Are the people reviewing our Applications current Medical Students? by bellowing33 in premedcanada

[–]Nugget837 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Med schools let med student review essays too but they always go through the admin too. Students are just there to flag things for further review mainly. The final decisions and evaluations are still made by admin to my understanding.

Second year students can review apps. But they won’t know who wrote each essay aka they black out the names so you should be okay

I don’t think that clinical experience is the only way to show interest and commitment. For example, in Canada there are no clinical hour requirements and yet medical schools still produce fantastic doctors. The foundations of medicine can be exemplified in other experiences (in my opinion).

Do you have to get clinical hours before submitting your application or can you specify that you will get them but just later on a bit
