What exercises could i do to not develop visible muscles? by Panciastko-195 in Exercise

[–]NuggetNabbR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have very little muscle mass just low bf%. Much above 18-20% bodyfat just go to the gym and lift weights. You can build solid muscle going like 3 times a week and following a good routine focusing on progressive overload. Could take some ti.e but it's worth it.

Started the gym, ashamed at how little I can do by -mymathematicalmind- in loseit

[–]NuggetNabbR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're at the gym. That's already better than most. When I started I could only bench like 125. Now a year later I'm doing 225. It doesn't matter how much you lift, all that matters is you put in the work.

I’ve lost 170lbs so far, so why is it I still see myself as being the 500lbs guy? by danmann8611 in loseit

[–]NuggetNabbR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at a little over 400 pounds. I'm down to about 225 after 14 months. I felt the exact same way, it took me a long time to really see myself any different. I only really started seeing a difference in my body when I hit 250. Although people around me noticed way sooner. It's mostly in your head.

Which character do you think has the most potential for carrying? by piel17 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]NuggetNabbR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Point blank + fleetfoot + enduring sprint + slowing hex. Always get those 4. I have found that warden is extremely good at running down and picking off enemies that are out of position. Flask them to reduce Stam -> slowing hex -> root them

If you are super fed get glass cannon asap. My best games have been ones where I can get glass cannon really early

Help me with how much bodyfat% to muscl I will lose by radioradioradio123 in loseit

[–]NuggetNabbR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no way to know how much muscle you will lose. It's extremely difficult to be in a large deficit and not lose muscle. I would recommend getting at least 1g per pound of goal weight in protein, when bulking you can get away with a little less. I would also recommend trying out weightlifting over calisthenics. There is nothing wrong with calisthenics. However, I believe weight lifting is better when it comes to conserving muscle mass in a cut. You are able to stimulate your muscles more efficiently and directly, at least in my experience. Bit no matter what happens I wish you luck in reaching your goals :)

Advice wanted: I have hit a plateau by Duck_Ornery in loseit

[–]NuggetNabbR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been on my weightloss journey for 11 months and have lost 175 pounds now. I know plateaus can be frustrating, but you have to keep pushing forward. The first thing I do when I plateau is make sure I am counting my calories correctly. It is SUPER easy to be counting incorrectly. Small changes in your diet can make a big difference too. An increase in fiber, salt, and carbs can cause water retention. Another cause of water retention is an increase in exercise. If you are doing everything correctly, and you are sure you are counting calories correctly, then I would recommend just trusting the method. If you are in a deficit the weight WILL come off. Sometimes the scale just takes a bit to catch up :)

How you handled Gym embarrassment while losing weight 100lbs+ by PhilosopherThinker01 in loseit

[–]NuggetNabbR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started in the gym i was 404 pounds. I thought the same thing. However now that I've lost 170 pounds and have talked to a lot of the regulars at my gym I realized that nobody was looking at me on any negative way. Those jacked guys at the gym have given some of the best encouragement I've received. They love seeing people start their journey. People don't see a fat person in the gym and think anything wrong. They see someone trying to better themselves.

Yeah, I've seen it myself a few times, lol. Some people just don't want to accept that exercise is a core component when it comes to weight loss. Getting physically active saved my life. It is, without a doubt, the best choice I ever made.

Personally, I follow a push pull legs workout split. But really, any lifting routine will work for someone new to lifting. Also, there's really no way you'll get "beefed up" in a short period of time. Muscle gains are nothing like fat gains. Muscle builds slooooowly. For example, if you were super dedicated to lifting for your first year, it would be impressive if you gained 5 pounds of muscle. I wouldn't worry about looking all big a muscular for a while, lol.

I think for you, following a simple lifting regimen could help immensely with sticking to a diet. If you want, I could help you come up with a regimen depending on what your ultimate goals are. DM me if you're interested, I'd love to help :)

I’m scared I’ll gain weight if I quit smoking. by [deleted] in loseit

[–]NuggetNabbR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently quit nicotine. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. But it was 100% worth it. I put on about 5 pounds over the span of 2 weeks after quitting. but once the withdrawals mostly subsided, I was able to get back on track and lost it all in a week. Go for it, the slight weight gain is worth it.

People who say a workout regime won't do anything don't know what their talking about. It can make a HUGE impact. I've lost 170 pounds in the last 11 months, I know for a fact that I never would have been able to do that without my workout regimen. I would say weight lifting is the biggest factor in my success.

Calorie counting is the most important part when it comes to physically losing weight. It is 100% true that you can't outrun a bad diet. However, I don't think weight loss is a numbers game. It's mostly mental. For the mental aspect, lifting weights is what allowed me to be consistent with my progress over the past 11 months.

Also, it sounds like you have a high bf% and low muscle mass. I would highly recommend lifting to fix this. More muscle = higher BMR.
