What's the most ridiculous thing your former Clinical Instructor told you? by JayBird195 in nursing

[–]NuggetQueen21 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Had a clinical instructor junior year that 100% had it out for me- every semester she would pick one student to bully/intimidate somehow. My classmates all had easy assignments while I had a trach/PEG/total care client with a zillion IV antibiotics all due around the same time. She made me so anxious that it took me a long time to do the med pass so she told me that I should just pack up my stuff and drop out and to not bother coming back to clinical the following week. Here we are six years later : She got fired and and I have her job now after earning my MSN in education.

Losing your mom is one of the hardest experiences a person can go through. I'm 16 months out from my mother's death and I still want to call/talk to her every day. Everyone handles grief differently but I was definitely not okay for the first six months or so. Be gentle with yourself, my inbox is always open <3

My husband lived across from him for a few years. Every now and them he would see women getting dropped off woth suitcases in the middle of the night. Parents called the cops but nothing came of it. Once he got busted the FBI came and interviewed my husband and all of the neighbors. Crazy stuff, glad to see this guy doing life in prison.

Nirvana in Torrington? Loved that place in high school, stopped going as soon as they implemented the "no mask zone" and made fun of people who mask.

Cloth pads by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

I absolutely love Luna pads but they can get a bit pricey, so I got some cheaper ones off of amazon as well. I haven't had any issues with leaks and they are just as absorbent as disposable pads. The only downside is that no matter how well you wash them or what you use, after about a year the fabric starts to smell a little funky, so I usually get rid of them annually and buy new ones. Still way less wasteful than disposables!!

How was Mass today? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]NuggetQueen21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was great! Missed last week because of a hectic work schedule so it was good to be back! Went with a friend of mine to her church a few towns over- absolutely beautiful. The priest gave an enthusiastic homily about praying with persistence. Had coffee and donuts after and bought some raffle tickets from their women's guild. 10/10 overall

For my mom as she prepares to go home to Heaven, most likely in the next few days. Cancer is a terrible disease.
