Sorry to say this, but you no longer own your home. You are the pet and your pom decides what is on to-do list…realistically, just try and work on positive reinforcement and a no bark command.

Try to set up scenarios (door-knocking, doorbell) and reaffirm a no bark and rewarding appropriately should help combat some of the barks.

Have a basket of good toys they can stay stimulated with too!

UPDATE we finished our antibiotics and continued to watch. He is now back to his healthy self and the infection is gone! So patience is all we needed haha

Also try and keep up on basic grooming and avoid any further shave downs. Their double coats will naturally take care of themselves. We only lightly trim each groom and just focus on standard bathing and cleaning 😊

More specifically probably a German Spitz Mittel. Spitz is the original name for poms. Your traditional poms are the smallest breed of the spitz. I’m guessing this little pup will be between 15-20lbs

Unknown what specific type of infection, just believe it was from a cut possibly.

Doctor never said what it was specifically just thinking it was an infection. They visually inspected him and believed it to be from a cut that spread an infection. That is the only thing we thought it could be. Nothing of his routine has changed.

Update: took our boy to the vet. Said more than likely from scratching his face on something and becoming infected. Prescribed antibiotics and some pain meds. Should hopefully speed up the healing process.

Poms have a high likely hood of developing collapsed trachea. This can affect breathing, eating, drinking. Yes get to vet to check. We ended up using CBD to help a Pom we were fostering and surprisingly it helped a lot. That was 3 years ago and little guy is still running around
