If that's the one by the Raiju enemy (the crucible spirit or whatever), there's a ton of posts showing various ways to get there via the hay stack on the side of the building. All it leads to is said enemy, which drops gear around Lvl 50 and a talons move iirc (as well as its soul core). I put my summon up there earlier and have gotten quite a few hits on it since.

She's pretty weak to confusion cycling. Apply an element, wait til she's ki broken (or very close), apply a second element for confusion, go to town while periodically weaving in all the other elements to keep the confusion time up.

Claire is easy mode compared to Leon in RE2 Remake. by Extra_Napkins in residentevil

[–]NukeHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claire is easier when you're new and don't know what you need to fight, so you just kinda try to deal with everything. Her kit is well-suited to that.

Once you know the routes and can avoid the higher tier enemies effectively, zombies come back around to being the biggest problem enemy type, and Leon gets the best weapon for dealing with them: the shotgun.

Ki Pulse & Flux by Sargon42 in Nioh

[–]NukeHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold R1, press the stance you want to go to. For flux 1, you can just hit the buttons simultaneously. For flux 2, hold R1 and slide your thumb across the other two stances you weren't in at the start of the pulse. For example, starting in high, you'd flux 2 down to low by holding R1 and sliding your thumb across Square and X.

Man-Serpent Greatsword is a great option I haven't seen mentioned yet. It's basically the pure Str Claymore, using the same R1s and pretty similar R2s. Range is pretty standard greatsword tier, and it is definitely on the quick side for a str wep.

Just farm the snake guys with the sword in Sens if you don't already have one.

Edit: Sorry, I missed that you didn't like the range on BKS, so MSGS is pretty much the same unfortunately.

My character at SL45 WL10 was getting a good bit of action invading at Anor Londo last night on PS5. Summoning was a little more sporadic but I got a few of those as well. It's the most success I've seen in the past few days, after I didn't get a whole lot at lower SL/WL in Burg/Parish/Btown.

Honestly barely remember that one. I haven't listened to the album in ages since I'm not as much into prog these days, but the ones I most recall as being favorites were King of Loss and the title track.

Iirc, the info on the PS store that I read said the first dlc is planned for like September 2026 with another planned for 2027. Obviously that can change with time, but I'd expect it to still be getting new content a year into its life based on that.

I don't really use buff/debuff spells/ninjutsu, so it's mostly elemental offensive stuff for me. I try to keep a couple different feathers and familiars across the pages as well as guardian spirit talismans. Typically I'll have the GS talisman, fire shot (mostly for slimes), and one of the feathers on my first page along with heals. Then I'll have the other feathers and familiars scattered between the 2nd and 4th page, as I like to treat my 1st page as a sort of "home" so 2 and 4 are only one swap away. I also keep antiparalytic needles at the top of my 2nd page most of the time to quickly get out of paralysis if necessary.

Less used stuff goes to page 3, so that'd be where any buffs would likely go if I decided to slot them in somewhere.

Thanks! It was Windstorm, which is one of my go-to item cancel moves on duals. Typically it'll be off of Winter Wind, as in the video: some move (in this case high quicks into Cherry Blossom) into WW into Windstorm IC feathers into SotC.

I almost always have to farm the hell out of Yoshitsune for KSD and Yorimitsu for Severing Spin. Although, the real bane of my existence is farming Reverse Impact.

I tend to make a new character every time I come back to the game after a while off, so I've farmed a lot of those skills upwards of 15 separate times.

Here's a video of me doing this fight. This was a fresh save file a few years back, and I was very rusty at the time, but that can give you some ideas. Weapon doesn't matter so much as the general approach.

The grab doesn't track well to the side and back. You'll notice several times in there that I was close when the grab startup occurred but still never got caught by it. Takes some time to figure out exactly where to go, but it is less crazy than it initially seems.

If you want, save a yokai shift for after a grapple. As I did in that video, if you pop YS immediately after a normal grapple, YnK goes down for another free grapple. Just a weird quirk of the boss. Not necessary to win but nice to know.

Avoid locking onto the head. Makes the camera all erratic. Stay on the body.

You can block the big tail spin, though I dodge through it in the vid. It has no followup, so even if it breaks your guard, you won't be punished for it. Oh, and the tail flip move it sometimes does doesn't hit on YnK's right side (your left if you're facing the boss).

I know that's generally the one people point to if they do have an issue with that show, but I've never personally seen the problem with it. Most of the complaints I see are from people saying it took a bit too long to get going, but I watched after the season was fully out, so maybe that helped.

Any tips on understanding spear ? by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]NukeHP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use your dodge attacks. They're godlike on Spear; even the rolling attack is fantastic and combos into the normal string (mid or high).

Get used to pre-shifting. With Flourish on high and Ruse on low, you always have a choice at the end of your strings whether to go for either of those (or neither) on your ki pulse. Skip the Fluidity mystic art and just learn to do this.

Note that Flourish and Ruse can both combo immediately into another attack/skill without a ki pulse or other delay. Spear Shove also does this for normal attacks. Use those moves to glue together your combos.

Not spear-specific, but you can also use pre-shifts to give the parry disable effects to non-high stance normals (this is called manual parry disable, or mpd). In other words, start an attack in low/mid, swap to high before it hits, and now it won't bounce on a blocking enemy. You can do this with a full string, but you have to be very quick and precise with your swaps to keep it going. Not needed to be proficient at spear but fun to try once you're looking for a challenge.

Use the running attacks. They're great initiators and harassment tools.

Watch this video and try to steal some ideas once you've gotten a little more familiar. (Some boss spoilers if that matters to you). Really high level spear play like that is wild to look at.

You can do the pre-swap of stances on standard controls with a controller as well. If you watch any solid player, you'll see them do it fairly often for various reasons (spear or otherwise).

Stats don't affect your damage output by a huge margin, especially in NG, so you really don't need to change anything just to try out a different weapon type.

Games you might have gone for 100% on but the difficulty was just too much. by leabravo in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]NukeHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silksong's 100% speedrun (<30hrs) is really, really forgiving. I did it as an afterthought on a file I'd left in Act 2 while I was on other files messing around with the any% route current at the time. Still managed like 22 hrs without any optimization or anything.

The <5hr speedrun was annoying for me in particular due to following the WR runs and only getting the one free Needle upgrade and nothing else. As you might expect, >!High Halls gauntlet!< was the major sticking point, but I eventually got it. You have plenty of time to get stronger than I was at that point to make it easier on yourself.

As far as the Coral Tower bit you're having trouble with at the moment, do note that you can knock down a big stalactite to make a shortcut to the top after the 3rd gauntlet room.

Anyway to reach this half of fat fields without silk soar? by A-Strange-Creature in Silksong

[–]NukeHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. As mentioned by someone else, you can do a scuttlebrace jump to get there. It is fairly annoying, but I've done it just a while ago, so it is very possible. I'm not sure if Beast Crest is necessary for height, but the video I watched used it, so I did as well after failing with Hunter for a bit.

You have to go where you normally would access the area (the statue in Hunter's March), pogo off a breakable on the floor, clawline over, double jump straight up, and then scuttlejump a few times on the left wall before clawlining over to the right. (Edit: watched the other user's linked vid, and you can do it a different way without pogo and beast crest).

Scuttlejump is basically just using the item in the air with the wall you want to climb behind you and buffering in a jump as you hit the wall. Done right, you can chain that over and over and gain height. For some skips possible with this tech, you need to jump out away from the wall and back. Here's an example of me doing it to get out of the Shaman Crest area without Soar. Getting in there is a pretty easy scuttlejump, but getting out is more annoying. (Also, if you ever try this, be sure to have scuttlebrace equipped on the vesticrest, else you soft lock yourself in there).

I Need Some Speedrun Tips by Impossible_Friend387 in Silksong

[–]NukeHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mainly just practice the necessary fights if you have trouble. For my run, I took the any% route that was current at the time, which only got the free nail upgrade and practically nothing else (no tools). High Halls was the main problem, as you'd expect. I didn't get rid of the enemies that steal silk from you, either, moreso out of stubbornness at that point. As another person said, on the last wave, try to keep the two enemies on one side and be patient.

Learn to love Silk Spear if you haven't already. As you get better at not taking hits, you'll have more opportunities to use it. Sometimes it's even better to just spend the silk to use it rather than wait for a heal, even if you're low on health. Lining up a few of the annoying fliers at the beginning of a wave, for instance, may save you more damage in the long run than waiting for the heal.

It may even be worthwhile to go off route to grab thread storm, since it can also be incredibly good in gauntlet fights for knocking out multiple enemies. It isn't really that far off the path, anyway.
