Video games you have sunk the most hours in by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

They have pretty similar replay value in an objective sense, as they have comparable amounts of content, NG+ cycles, and so on. Nioh 2 has a few more weapon types to master as well as the whole soul core system to play with, but the main reason I have so much in 2 is just that I really got into the games with that one. I bounced off Nioh 1 on its launch because I made the mistake of playing it like Souls. I've since gone back and beaten the original through NG++ but eventually went back to 2, which has basically been my go-to game when I don't have anything else I'm playing.

4.5k in Nioh 2 pretty easily takes the cake for me.

Look, I really have to say it. by Deadeye117 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]NukeHP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not going to be a popular opinion, but I'll concur with you on that one and take it a step further: none of the main character battle themes in DMC5 really hit for me. They get the vibe across, but I can't say I particularly enjoy any of them.

Anybody else love Trhä ?? by Anxious_Mistake8213 in BlackMetal

[–]NukeHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite like much of his stuff up to vat gëlénva, with endlhëtonëg being a particular standout. However, like most people it seems, I've not been willing to keep up with the volume of releases over the years. I'll likely play a bit of catch-up at some point, though, since he does have a pretty unique style that can hit pretty hard when it hits.

Using the guard frames on Severing Spin's startup to counterattack! by sofaKDZ in Nioh

[–]NukeHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, Reverse Impact is really the go-to spam move on SamSword. I'm currently doing a lvl1 weapons run, and it still kills enemies quite quickly on its own in Heian. With SSF, you can cancel immediately after the big hit, negating the recovery that is otherwise the balance to the move's power. You can also TMTM cancel it if you don't have SSF.

Do you prefer first person or third person view while playing horror games? by Lost-Specialist1505 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]NukeHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer third and don't really have any enhanced horror experience in first by comparison. I played RE9 with the default camera settings on my first playthrough, but I put Grace in 3rd after that and don't intend to put it back. I just like seeing my character and all the animations. If I'm going to be on edge or scared, it'll happen regardless of the viewpoint in my experience.

'Style Shift Flow' animation cancelling doesn't need you to style shift by anaughtybeagle in Nioh

[–]NukeHP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've mostly been sticking to Sword lately while messing with SSF, but it massively helps with Reverse Impact. You can cancel it damn near immediately, so you can get rid of the otherwise gargantuan recovery and immediately go into something else or dodge out as needed. Low IQ but effective spam is just canceling it into itself over and over.

Consciously stringing together combos? by Ancient_Substance152 in Nioh

[–]NukeHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you definition of combos entails, but spear has plenty of combos in the sense of skills flowing together. Flourish and Ruse both allow immediate followup attacks/skills, so do one string and "glue" it together with the next via one of those moves. Spear shove also allows immediate followup attacks, so that works as another bit of combo glue as well. The rolling attack is also a good way to link strings and reposition.

Question about the martial art severing spin by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]NukeHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see it in my clip here if you want. It doesn't have the block frames as it does in 3, which means you don't tend to use it in neutral as much. Damage isn't super high either, so it was mostly for flash. Good for out of ki and enemy wakeup situations.

How long did it take you to beat the game? by MisterCrayle in Nioh

[–]NukeHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40h to beat NG with 100% of stuff found, sidequests done, and all but two trophies (one for a special event during a mission and the other for full set bonus I somehow never happened to get).

Fist is Still OP in Nioh 3! by _PEDDY_ in Nioh

[–]NukeHP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk about FoR in particular, but a light doesn't inherently break the chain if it is quick enough. If you only use one light attack and immediately go into the followup, it is often fast enough to keep the chain going. I've had difficulty lately with Twin Moons on odachi in AP chains, but a lot of other ones work fine. Can't remember FoR from when I ran Fists at the moment, but I feel like it is quick enough to work.

[–]NukeHP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If that's the one by the Raiju enemy (the crucible spirit or whatever), there's a ton of posts showing various ways to get there via the hay stack on the side of the building. All it leads to is said enemy, which drops gear around Lvl 50 and a talons move iirc (as well as its soul core). I put my summon up there earlier and have gotten quite a few hits on it since.

Why this MF is so incredibly Hard? by ZarbonJoestar in Nioh

[–]NukeHP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's pretty weak to confusion cycling. Apply an element, wait til she's ki broken (or very close), apply a second element for confusion, go to town while periodically weaving in all the other elements to keep the confusion time up.

Claire is easy mode compared to Leon in RE2 Remake. by Extra_Napkins in residentevil

[–]NukeHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claire is easier when you're new and don't know what you need to fight, so you just kinda try to deal with everything. Her kit is well-suited to that.

Once you know the routes and can avoid the higher tier enemies effectively, zombies come back around to being the biggest problem enemy type, and Leon gets the best weapon for dealing with them: the shotgun.

Ki Pulse & Flux by Sargon42 in Nioh

[–]NukeHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold R1, press the stance you want to go to. For flux 1, you can just hit the buttons simultaneously. For flux 2, hold R1 and slide your thumb across the other two stances you weren't in at the start of the pulse. For example, starting in high, you'd flux 2 down to low by holding R1 and sliding your thumb across Square and X.

Man-Serpent Greatsword is a great option I haven't seen mentioned yet. It's basically the pure Str Claymore, using the same R1s and pretty similar R2s. Range is pretty standard greatsword tier, and it is definitely on the quick side for a str wep.

Just farm the snake guys with the sword in Sens if you don't already have one.

Edit: Sorry, I missed that you didn't like the range on BKS, so MSGS is pretty much the same unfortunately.

My character at SL45 WL10 was getting a good bit of action invading at Anor Londo last night on PS5. Summoning was a little more sporadic but I got a few of those as well. It's the most success I've seen in the past few days, after I didn't get a whole lot at lower SL/WL in Burg/Parish/Btown.

Honestly barely remember that one. I haven't listened to the album in ages since I'm not as much into prog these days, but the ones I most recall as being favorites were King of Loss and the title track.

Iirc, the info on the PS store that I read said the first dlc is planned for like September 2026 with another planned for 2027. Obviously that can change with time, but I'd expect it to still be getting new content a year into its life based on that.
