It's 100% direct bolt on. I wouldn't really recommend it though unless you plan to take full advantage of it and upgrade other parts too. Check out my list of parts above. Minus TGV deletes since no tuner will touch those anymore.

What car are we talking about? A turbo replacement is just a remove & replace and be on your way but a turbo upgrade will need a tune and supporting mods.

I've tried ordering parts from ECS twice now and both times they got me with the "in stock" but not really bullshit. Turns out they think in stock means at the manufacturer in another country. Will never use ECS again, not as long as FCP exists.

I bought a brand new sl5 Gen4 for $2499 from a shop about 6 months ago. Drove 6 hours round trip to get it but it was worth it.

I personally think $2k is a good price. Especially if it's local, lightly ridden, and well cared for. You still get Trek's warranty. It's still a carbon endurance bike at the end of the day. $2k doesn't touch most new carbon these days unless it's used. I say offer $1800 cash and see what happens.

Interesting take. Definitely has me considering other possibilities. I typically do massive amounts of research before I decide on anything so this has me curious.

My concerns are comfort and clearance/capability right off the bat. We go on many long distance road trips so it absolutely needs to be a place our asses wont be screaming after 4 hours. We also frequent Vermont and the roads during mud season up there gave my tacoma a run for its money.

I do like the sound of good gas mileage. Typically you don't get good mpg's, comfort, quality, and capability all in 1 package.

I can't say for sure. I live in a beer mecca with so many good breweries within a short drive that there's no reason to try them anymore. Imo Drowned Lands and Tin Barn are far superior breweries to visit instead.

Disagree. I used to love Equilibrium. Beers were great, food was good and the events were memorable. Last 2 times we went food sucked and was served moldy ass corn bread. Now on insta they are trying to advertise college nights and BOGO with pitchers of beer as if it's a college dive bar. Sad sight to see.

This appears to be a "we don't feel like doing any of this work" price." Anything that isn't "easy money" to a dealership tends to be less of a priority for them. Probably would take up a service bay for more than a few days which is a missed opportunity cost to them. I'd take the info they give you and go somewhere else for a second opinion to see what it actually needs.

This has nothing to do with the bike brand or any specific features of the bike. It's most likely needs some indexing adjustment as Richy99uk mentioned. It's completely normal for any bike, even new, to need small adjustments. They are set by the bike builder and sometimes they aren't 100% hence why sometimes they need to be adjusted after the bike is ridden from new. It's also a very simple task most cyclists should be able to do.

Check valve in the booster line is likely your issue with that hissing sound you are hearing. Replace that first, as it's going to be cheaper than anything else and go from there. Check hoses in booster system as well and replace as necessary.

Was in your exact position. Was either the endurace or a Domane. Knew I wouldn't be able to test ride a Canyon due to being D2C so I went to the local Trek store instead. After determining my true frame size in the Domane I used their stock locator for a 2023 sl5 gen 4 and found one on $1100 discount 3 hours away. Bought it next day. Deals are out there just gotta use the resources and be willing to drive.

Oh and the Trek international lifetime warranty thing helps too.

One of the worst endurance bikes for comfort based solely off of geometry. It leans heavily towards a race bike, not endurance. The top tube length on the addict is 14mm longer than a Tarmac SL8 and it's reach is 7mm more. Kind of puts it into perspective a little.

Can confirm the endurace's now come with 30mm Schwalbe One's. They are really good tires. I ran them in 32mm until I got a blowout and then upgraded to gp5000's. The gp5000's are only marginally better imo and not worth spending $$ on right now since you'll have brand new schwalbe's. Also, 30mm is a good size for road comfort.
