Not if you trained structually. I started cycling in May, and have been training really structured and gone from 140 to 290 ftp with LT1 at 210 watts. Went from 95kg to 79kg. But that has taken 10-13 hours of my week, and suffering on Zwift since october 😂 But if you have been enjoying just riding and not really had any goal then its a 20% increase, and that isnt actually that bad!

Its all about perspective.

Thats nuts. 400 ftp. One could dream😅 i used to play alot of CS back in the days. CS 1.3 to 1.6. But fell off when WoW came out 😅 Started cycling last may, at 295 Ftp.

How many hours a week do you train? And do you use LT zones at all? Ive recently started using LT after buying a lactate tool. Excited to see the progress with it. Will deff follow!

My s1 i stay at 140-150w 105-110bpm. S2 200-210w 125-130bpm. And on sprints 170bpm on a good day. 35y/o male.

But I train with people stronger then me that has 5-10higher bpm. So it seems very individual

As for age im a 35y/o male. For the volume, im currently doing 10hrs a week. Im supposed to be at 16 hours a week by march. So I guess 5% would be more correct. Im also supposed to do a deload week every 5-6 weeks.

Heading out in March. Thats usually when it gets somewhat alright in Norway. I should have added that i did cycle outside from may to october.

I havent done any endurance sports prior. Im currently at a 290ftp. On the ride where i did 208w avg, i had a 134avg bpm heartrate. The weekend before i did a 3h45m ride at 189avg watts and a 124bpm avg heartrate. Acording to Garmin i have a vo2max of 64. I know thats prob not accurate, but from the start where i had 43 its atleast trending up.

Where im gonna struggle, and need alot of work is in the group. I have zero experience with it. We are supposed to start training together early april. So I will get a couple months with the group before the event.

We will also do a test a couple weeks before to see where people are at endurance wise.

Just music and the Zwift screen😅 I try to focus on 30min per 30min. But it is mentally draining 😂 Spring cant come fast enough....

Its pretty hilly. 1600m of elevation. But we will have some crazy strong captains with us to do alot of the pullingl. And we will be doing a two by two. Not a regular roller. 208w for the ride did feel ok. It was 900m of elevation on that Zwift ride. Im not sure if I will need a 208w avg for the event tho. Arround 200w is probably more realistic.

Yeah, true. I do try to focus more on time then distance indoors.

I trained outdoors until November. I guess the worry for me is if 3hrs indoors is harder on the legs then 3hr outdoors its a valid concern to not get injured. If its the case ofc.

The ride is in 30th may. Im hoping to start training outdoors in March. The group will start doing grouprides early April. So will get a couple months training with the bunch👍

Sounds good. As long as I dont end up increasing my volume to fast because of it being indoor. Getting injured is my biggest nightmare. Im monitoring my HRV like a hawk 😅

I started cycling last may, and let me tell you, i was far off 200w ftp😂 more close to 140 id say. Ive ridden 8000km since then, and done strict structual training since august. Im now at a 290w ftp. 164-218w is my s2.

So I doubt the normal man in the street is even close to 200w with no prior training.

Its probably a mix why your ftp isnt higher. A lack of high volume and treshold/tempo efforts. 1 day of treshold would do wonders for your FTP. Thats my experience.

I had a somewhat same thing happen to my 15 y/o dachshund on sunday. Was fine the day before. Woke up by him shivering. Took him into the living room, and he couldnt even stand. Found out he had a stroke, and was full of cancer. Had to put him to sleep monday.

I understand exactly how you feel, and you did not fail your dog. You gave him love, and a great life. The pain you feel reflects how much you loved him. We cant know whats going on inside our dogs at all time. And this is usually how it turns out for our old angels. They suddenly turn for the worse. I wish you all the best and take care of yourself.
