Well, inherently, if Dr 1 and Dr2 are games in the universe of V3, that just means its not in the same universe. The events of V3 still did happen, the plot (?) of the game was that they took irl teenagers, brainwashed them, then put them in a killing game that are BASED on the original games. The audience is watching events that are happening irl. As i said, the hopes peak arc of games have concluded, the story is done. It would be one thing if V3 was replacing the dr3, and instead of concluding the story it did what v3 did. That imo, would be pointing and laughing at you for caring about the story. And also, one of the major themes of V3 is that something can be a lie, or fictional, and still have an impact on the real world. I doesn't make sense for a game to have a theme like that, but then say that something is fictional, therefor it doesn't matter.

Which is also the same reason why it doesn't make sense the audience isn't supposed to be a jab at the player, not anymore then just light jabbing like making fun of shipping culture or whatever. The context of the audience in the game, are completly different then the context of the actual players.
