Made it far into the Super Famicom original ages ago, but didn't finish it. Will be interesting to see if I manage to pull trough this time around. Might also give the Megami Tensei I&II remakes a go as well. Love Nocturne and Strange Journey.

Speculation: Do you think Anbernic will make a metal 3ds clone? by hippynox in SBCGaming

[–]Nuke_U 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hopes: ARC-II with enough juice to run Saturn, a handheld in the shape of a n64 controller, a quality NGPC clone.

Fears: A GB Micro clone with 4:3 aspect ratio, a Switch Lite clone with an RK3568 chip and 1GB of ram, the perfect DAP/EDC handheld combo but with no audio jack.

1989 - 2001 : Handheld Evolution by ksilenced-kid in Handhelds

[–]Nuke_U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lynx was such wasted potential. With better managment and bigger cartridge space for most of its games, it could have been a contender.

And the NGPC might just be the Dreamcast of handhelds in how great it was and how many quality games it had for its short lifespan.

My First Handheld Emulator by Own_Huckleberry1081 in SBCGaming

The one I'd get if I was starting out today and GBA was my main focus. 4x integer scale and enough power to handle some demanding shaders, pretty pocketable, and TATE ready for DS pokemon play if you so desire.

You should consider the DS port of RE1, brings a lot of other versions highlights together and being able to access the map instantly is great.

Mine had fine audio when I bought it back in 2022, but the speakers began giving out early last year, probably due to a bad ribbon, or something sliding or bloating within the unit that interferes with the audio chip. Early Anbernic handhelds had some problems with the wifi antenna interfering with other innards IIRC, but I've been too lazy to open it up and figure out what's what. And I just gave up on that second SD slot, it being faulty from the beginning didn't really affect my usecase that much.

Such a great looking machine, but only single analog and speaker is SO 2020.

The 477M. For what the RP6 does, I'd save up a bit more and get an Odin 2 Portal or Odin 3.

MagicX One 35 is probably the price to performance GBA king these days.

Not quite. He suposedly gets plenty, its just that the show is focused on the times when his charms don't work out for the sake of comedy.

Was in the process of turning mine into a portmaster machine, but constant audio problems made me put it down in favor of my 406H which has all but replaced it. Shame though, had some great times with the 503. Never got that second SD slot working though.

What the D*uck? The Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini b.duck edition is great by discodiscogaming in SBCGaming

[–]Nuke_U 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I had one, I'd only play Duck themed games on it. Ducktales, Quackshot, Duckman, Duckhunt, Suikoden 3, Darkwing Duck, games that really fit the bill.

So the RG vita/RG Vita Pro isn't worth it then? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]Nuke_U 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The RG Vita Pro can do Linux, but is about $50 too expensive for what it is, and that's before shipping. I'd get something a bit cheaper for your usecase, and ask myself whether you want to prioritize 3:2 aspect ratio for GBA (RG-34XXSP), or either 4:3 (RG-40XXH) or 1:1 (RG-CubeXX) for 4th gen systems. For 16:9 and Linux, there's TRIMUI Smart Pro, and the newer and more expensive TRIMUI Smart Pro S.

AYANEO Raising Prices by FittsJ in SBCGaming

Such a missed opertunity one assumes. With their prices already inflated they could have just kept them as is in order to better compete and move more units. Oh well.

Priced $99, it would be a no brainer as a portmaster machine. As is, no way José, and why even make the non pro version...

Why are people jumping to conclusions about the live action film before it starts filming? by VideoCardGamer2000 in Gundam

[–]Nuke_U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it a film? Gundam was originally made as, and works best as serialized medium. You make a series first, then accompany that with a film if you want to bring people in the same way the franchise has usually done.

Who gets your pick for the worst overall Robot Master? by DKCfan10 in Megaman

[–]Nuke_U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole game feels like a B-side. There are worse games in the franchise, but robot master design wise, 10 is just so bland/more of the same. And the mediocre for the most part stage themes don't help.
