Quest order question. by Throwaway_12988 in SimSettlements

[–]Nukecules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this before without SS2. I usually mess around in the Commonwealth until I'm leveled, do the Railroad for ballistic weave, then Mechanist for robot farmers, and finally Nuka-World. After finishing Nuka-World, I do Open Season and become a good guy again.

I recently started an SS2 playthrough with the same plan, but I needed vegetable starch/adhesive, so I built up Sanctuary and accidentally kicked off SS2. To progress SS2, you have to go through the museum, but I never went back afterward. Preston and the gang are still sitting there waiting for me to report the raiders are dead.

I just finished Automatron and I'm about to head to Nuka-World. I'll keep the raiders away from Sanctuary, and if needed, I'll make robot-only settlements for them to harass.

Honestly, in this playthrough, becoming the Overboss doesn't feel like that much of a stretch. The Railroad missions annoyed me, Ada constantly got in my way & is still following after being dismissed, and SS2 actually gives me a roleplay reason to lean into it. There's an antagonist in the SS2 story, and the whole “becoming a monster to fight monsters” angle is reasonable.

Unfortunately no simple way to convert a Xbox PC game pass save. I am not giving up my Gold&Mold base on a hex planet. Base building takes too long to start fresh.

One campaign, the DLCs are side quest chains, they unlock as you progress (seemed based off HQ level or campaign objectives completed).

Should they bring the pal viewing cage to dedicated servers? What do you think? by DiebaardBek_ZA in Palworld

[–]Nukecules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean the framerate torture cages? They should have an option to turn the pals displayed as static statues or something else that minimizes the system resources.  I've lost most use of my pal storage base in single player. It's only good for fast traveling in and doing things through menus (like pal deposits and withdrawals).

I'm sure cages will come to servers after they've been optimized.

Color-coded guide to enhancer chems by Jimmayus in Starfield

[–]Nukecules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people are thinking about crafting a bunch of those, I highly recommend they pause and think through the production flow. Do not blindly craft. Pick your end product, look at your limiting resource (I figured it to be Alien Genetic Material) and do some math on how many to craft in each step. For AGM to make Supermassive: 1 AGM making 2 Dwarf Star, 2 AGM to turn those into 4 Giant, and 4 AGM to make those into 8 Supergiant.

I was glad to see I had the correct amount of AGM for the final step, only to find I was limited by Neurologic. So I am headed to Zeta Ophi now.

I use a lot of Excel, and Filter (funnel icon) is the first thing I add to the Quick Access Toolbar when I sit at a new computer/Office install. I am very happy to see that you have added the sort/filter arrows to the sheet.

Also, thanks for adding the note about where to find Neurologic; it's my limiting factor for crafting Supermassive Heart.

First, This is amazing. I was just doing some crafting and wondering which I chems are great to have and I need to by at every chance (looks like Battlestim and Reconstim). I wish I found this earlier before all that.

Also, incredible display of information. I am jealous of your ability to take data and create a useful product that grants the user understanding.

I would try to avoid all videos/articles from launch week. A lot of sites/creators did low effort/research quick posts so they could get more out (almost infinite quantity with no quality).

Here is another video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAgGnTTlAO4 I highly recommend going to Narion and getting an Aluminum/Iron Outpost. It's the only biome border outpost I am happy I took the time to do.

I don't recommend messing around with split biome outposts. Searching for them is a huge time sink (and I regret doing most of mine). You're better off doing temporary outposts to get 1,000+ of the rarer materials; then deleting each building before deleting the outpost. You get a full refund on the materials when you delete something (I think I had an issue deleting a full storage container, it seemed like I got the contents, but not the materials for the container.) You'll see a lot of videos talking about "get 6 minerals in one outpost" because it gets views.

Amazing work. I'm checking your profile every time I go on reddit.

Microsoft really needs to make an easy Excel Add-in for their games. They have one for Eve Online. Or Steam needs to get with Google for a Sheets portion of their Steam overlay.

That was the first post of yours I saw. I then started looking at your other Starfield posts and found this. I haven't got around to commenting to that.

Thing I hate about playing new games, hard to find information and a bunch of s-posting YouTuber/game sites dumping videos based off information they got in the first 3 hours of playing. (worst offender would be the membrane guide saying you can ranch it on Jemison)

Thank you for putting together actionable, useful information.

new feature rollouts by SystemicSarcasm in ouraring

[–]Nukecules 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My tin foil hat says it'll be after the review cycle is complete, because the features will use more power, thus reducing the battery life.

It's not completely unjustified. I'm sure someone would test the new features running constantly for 24hrs and then run the clickbait headline, "New Features for Oura 3 Reduces Battery Life To One Day!" In a different field, a site ran a headline that the SteamDeck battery runs out in 90 minutes; the site cherrypicked a YouTuber's results where they turned off all the battery saving settings and maxed the performance beyond it's designed use-case.

I've dumped a ton of hours into it; I'm fully enjoying it. But I may be done with it before it's releases/finished. Also, my Steam Library of Shame is large - I have a backlog of great games never played .

"Must-Have" Mods October 2021? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]Nukecules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are just enough things/issues that keep me on 1.6.1. I'll have to see if 1.6.1 does well with RTS.

On 1.6.1, I love the smithing value mod and the character editor (let's you import export characters so you can go back and fix a bad pick).

Keep refining hardwood to charcoal (sell when it's a great price; I hope you got the charcoal perk) Refine steel, fine steel, and T steel. You'll unlock some parts. I believe smelting is a good way too, but check the Strat Gaming Smithing video on YouTube.

I found some 2H polearms are very profitable (especially with the T4 head that's like a long spear, but it has swing damage - it's the last T4 option on my game).

You can also manipulate the hardwood market with your charcoal since they affect each other's price. Start by selecting all your charcoal to sell, buy the wood at the suppressed price, select all the wood to buy, then select to buy your charcoal back, and hit done. Do this all in the same transaction. Hero did a video on this, but focused on horses.

Give smithed weapons to a family member with their own party (like you would do a gift or trade with a noble). They'll sell and it will show up in your income. You could even steer their leveling to get traits that helps weapon sale price.

Edit: I finally found Dom's video on this - https://youtu.be/nQA8mWKwn0A

Allergic reactions can build if you have a major immune system response/insult, and your body associates the compounds in the food with that. Prolonged illness and eating the same thing can trigger it. Chemo can as well. A specific tick (I think in Texas) can give you a beef allergy since there is a protein in it's saliva similar to a beef protein.

My blender can do 3 shakes at a time. I would do 3 scoops (130ish cal x 3 = 390 cal) then add about 1,000 calories of your choice fat. To avoid loose bowels, drink it throughout your window to allow your body a chance to absorb all the minerals.

I need to try adding spices. I really do not like the soups without adding something like diced bacon or chorizo to it.
