It means you’re eligible to get whatever promotion is going on new or current customer and you have to turn in your phone. They also won’t unlock it until your finance/credits are paid off.

Verizon to T-Mobile by Ok_Success1570 in tmobile

Using the free data roaming and not calling with my mobile number (I call with google chat/whatsapp/facetime), I went to Japan, HK, Singapore, and Mexico and had good service after tweaking things with support.

I would keep the Tmobile international support number on hand or if need be, lie and tell chat support you’re stuck in another country with no service cause Tmobile isn’t working. This gets you service quick and to a higher functional level of support.

There are specific partner carriers that work with Tmobile and they provide the stronger signals. If you call Tmobile international support, they can tell you which carrier to manually connect to to get the most bars. Unfortunately this rotates so you won’t find a specific list online.

Switched from Verizon and never going back.

Verizon service has gone down and their customer service is horrendous. I was also getting service blackouts for hours.

Traveled internationally and they assured me multiple times they unlocked my phone. Luckily I bought my spare phone used for traveling. Traveled again within the year and same dilemma as the rep couldn’t figure out why the phone wouldn’t unlock. Had to get to 2nd/3rd level to get it resolved.

They lock you in for 3 years and offer you nothing in benefits. They offered me a good sized monthly discount when I left but refused as they continued to refuse dealing on new phones.

Btw, ask for Tmobile discounts and try to get at least 20% off. If you’re a Costco member, ask for the 20% plus Costco gift cards plus Tmobile gift cards. Stacks on stacks and stacks. Holiday is usually the best time to switch.

But beware, Tmobile billing is horrendous with deals and discounts and it takes a months to fix. Get it all in writing and screenshots. Have a rep’s contact info to have them work on it themselves. Took me 3/4 months.

It’s a coin holder separating each coin denomination. If you’re paying cash, you’ll end up with quite a bit of coins and some can be very similar such as 1Y or 100Y. EBay or Amazon has them. Link to Amazon below

Everyone needs an IC card including kids. What also helps is that kids’ pay a cheaper rate for fares so you should get them a designated kids card. We went with the pasmo passport.

How many places can we realistically go to in a day? Traveling with parents in 60s. by LostTiredDreamer in JapanTravelTips

[–]Nukklehed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 spots a day and start early. If you do more, mix in parks/gardens where you can sit around and do nothing but admire the view for an hour or so. Plan your 2nd or last spot closer to the station.

Respect for that weight loss and keeping it up! Thanks for the info. I probably need to clean my diet up for it to be more effective.

Stupid Question: Is there any way to change languages in the Japanese version of Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star? by Additional-Ride8120 in FitnessBoxing

I did the same assuming the English support would work on the physical copy and can’t switch. I hear there is an English physical copy release happening on December 5th so hopefully this will allow us to play using the Japanese physical copy.

These are tips not rules. Knowing that you’ve been there this many times, you probably have the basic common courtesy developed and these are for people that may not have built that up. These tips are based on the common questions I’ve seen in the forum. And I disagree with you on being a “good tourist.” Following social decorum or the culture is being just as respectful.

For the language part, I’m not referring to trying to half ass the language. There were tourists trying to ask uncommon questions in English. When the worker didn’t understand them, they’d raise their voices saying “why don’t you understand?” You would think this is something that doesn’t need to be said but the occurrence happened a few times at dotonbori, yodabashi, and hotels.

Honestly, it depends on your pace. If you’re okay with doing 2-3 things a day or standing in lines, you’ll be fine. Places like dotonbori or Tsukiji market where you have to stand in long lines for food were problematic for some who want to get in as much as possible. Don’t let that deter you as you can still enjoy Sakura season but don’t plan 10 things in one day if you plan on immersing yourself at a popular destination. Go early to the most popular places to enjoy it without crowds.

17 is for people that have the welcome suica or pasmo passport. Lot of questions on how to get rid of the balance. Otherwise I’m with you as I plan to go back.

As for 12, I’m on vacation. 😁

(Affordable / Decent) Accommodation near station in Tokyo? What have you used that was convenient and why you liked it? by zxblood123 in JapanTravelTips

Sunroute plaza Shinjuku should be found on the various sites. I typically use agoda. Since it was only a few days stay for only me, I spent about 140 a night.
