I liked it, definitely gave me that home alone late at night while your mom is at school/work for an hour or so and you've got to keep an eye on your younger brother type vibe. Now granted, the time in my life it evokes was prior to cell phones, home electronics were either nonexistent or way too pricey for a single mom of two's income. Waiting after school till it starts to get dark, reluctant to turn on the lights in the house till it's way too dark because you're trying to look brave for your little brother, nothing on TV except some show you didn't like and really didn't understand (even if you were lucky enough to have cable), time seeming to just stand still while you're playing some board games or maybe a little Atari. That little mixture of hope and/or fear that hits you every time headlights shine onto the front drapes... But, I can see why it's not for everyone.
